The original hierophants were priests out of Eleusis in Greece.  This greek word translates to “the revealer of sacred things.” The word was documented in English in the 17th century and it referred to these priests.  However, the word transformed with time to mean an interpreter, an advocate, or a spokesperson.  

 

All the astrological signs have a corresponding rulership in the physical body.  This dates back to the Renaissance when Physicians referenced the Natal Chart of a patient as part of their healing practice.  The practice of mapping celestial bodies to plants and the human body is known as Medical Astrology or Astro-Herbalism.  Anyway, since the Hierophant was pulled, which corresponds to Taurus, I will focus on the throat as this is the ruling center of the body for this sign.  I find the origin and transformation of the word itself particularly illuminating in relation to the message coming through.  As a Cancer, there’s an innate sensitivity and empathetic nature within you.  As a means of self preservation, one may armor and compartmentalize parts of the emotional self as a means to cope with heightened delicacy, which in turn shuts down self advocacy.

The Cosmic Egg, Ovum Philosophicum, refers to the principal vessel in Alchemy where transmutation occurs.  The Great Work, Magnum Opus, is the spiritual pursuit of greatness as achieved by transforming the base metal of the ego into the Gold of the Soul.  

 

Our first home begins inside the Womb of Creation.  The amniotic sac is a defining feature of amniotes, which are reptiles, birds, and mammals.  This fluid filled “egg” provides a safe, aquatic, environment for the embryo to develop on Earth.  This sac is an evolved version of the shelled egg and develops around day 7 or 8 after fertilization.  

 

There is a long held myth that the fastest sperm is the sole champion that implants within the ovum, however science has proved the egg is equally part of the fertilization process.  It releases chemical signals that guide and attract the sperm toward it.  Essentially, this egg summons the sperm.  It’s a magnetic force.  The message here being of unity and oneness.  Honoring all aspects within and without as the great creator of the universe.  When we marry the virtues of the masculine force with the feminine principle, magic is literally born.  This manifestation is living proof that reverberates through each and every single one of us.  It is our origin story and this creative process is ever present with each and every breath we take.
