I'm not sure where to ask this but I ran across this website and if you scroll to the right on the colorful charts it says Numerology and Count of each major arcana for RWS and another chart for Thoth and others. https://tarotelements.com/major-arcana-correspondences/ Can anyone please explain their numerology and count? I thought numerology was literally the number on the card and when I've searched each cards numerology it comes up as the number on the card. So I don't understand this websites Numerology and Count. Thank you very much, Tarot Learner Lonely

Hi there, Im working with my favourite deck to attempt to reconnect back with my cards. Its been a while and im looking deeper into significant symbols that occur on my cards to gain their meanings to the card in hand. I've chosen to focus on the Swords suit recently, and im working with the Silver Witch Tarot. Its usual depiction of a woman, blindfolded, with two balanced swords are there, however it appears to have roses on her right (cards left) and lilies on her left (cards right). Both are slightly frozen. Could this signify the sitters vunerability with this card in play? Thoughts welcomed :D

Its full name is actually the ATA Finest Reflections Readers' Choice Awards. Reflections is the official publication of the American Tarot Association. At the end of last year, they voted on the top three entries for four categories: Tarot-Related Books or Publications; Lenormand or Kipper Decks; Oracle Decks; and Tarot Decks. There are two sets of polls: one for 2017 and one for all-time. HERE are the winners for the cream of the crop of 2017. HERE are those for the best of All Time. So, what do you guys think? Some of the winners are quite shocking or downright meh for me.

I was browsing Llewellyn's website and saw that they have a tarot calendar for 2018: http://llewellyn.com/journal/article.php?id=2637. It looks pretty cool! I don't know if it's enough for me to switch from my usual calendar (I love Llewellyn's Witches' Calendar and have been buying it for a few years now) but it's definitely tempting. It looks like they feature various spreads, exercises etc throughout the year.

I had an interview today and I did a cc spread before the interview and horseshoe spread after the interview. Coincidentally outcome, fear and environment in both the spreads has come to be the same. Outcome- Chariot Fear- Strength Environment / Attitude of others - 6 of swords I don’t really feel good about how the interview went, obviously my hunch on the Recent future is right with the Tower. But I wonder why these cards are chasing me?

Hello lovelies, May I get your take on this spread? I did a 3 card spread for a certain someone I fancy, and the really interesting thing about this spread is that the question was strictly about him, not at all about me. I don't know his story but have a feeling he's separated or divorced. I was concerned on whether he might have met someone in recent months/years and would be seeing this person now. And generally what the situation looks like. Here's what I got... All cards reversed: (past) 10 of cups (present) 3 of cups (future) 5 of wands Again these are all reversed. I feel this reading truly confirmed my in…

I’m curious to know if anyone has any experience with the 3 of wands when asking about love life eg: ‘what will my love life be like.’ I use the mythic tarot deck but I’ll also refer to the rider Waite tarot. When I look at mythic deck I see a traveller holding three wands (I don’t know what that represents) and he is startled and contemplating the man offering the crown. I see this as the man offering to be in the guy’s life. He’s showing he wants to be a part of it and will do anything. But the guy standing is wondering if that’s really a good idea. So perhaps this shows that during travels the querent will meet someone who is deeply, or should I say intrudingly, …

Melissa Jo Hill (formerly SassySibyl of Melissa Lenormand fame) has a new website up and running and is offering a free 30 day Tarot course. Thirty Days of Tarot From her blog post: I’ve created this course, not to be an introduction to Tarot, but rather, to be an introduction to the kind of play and immersion that’s possible with the Tarot. Each day, a new lesson will be published on the site (and students will get this via email as well). The lessons include invitations to dig in, each day, to create a daily Tarot practice that incorporates the cards in different areas of life—from the ritual to the mundane. :)

Hi everyone, I saw a great thread on (another tarot site) (link removed) For those who don't feel like reading it, basically this person came up with some creative ways to learn tarot everyday for the next 365 days. Here's some of their ideas: - If the card is pulled for the first time, meditate on its themes and symbols. I am personally planning to imagine myself inside the card and take note of any smells, sensations, tastes, colours, and overall feelings. - If the card is pulled for the second time, spend 10-15 minutes journaling on its themes and how they're showing up in your life - If the card is pulled for the thir…

Hope I am posting this in the correct place. How do you feel about reading the cards for someone who has no idea you are reading for them? I have read the cards about someone without their consent when I was young (many moons ago) and was desperate to know if someone liked me; would come back to me; was seeing someone else - all the usual anxt making stuff when one is young and "in love"! These days I am uncomfortable reading for someone when they want to know details about another person. I usually steer them towards "what do I need to know about my feelings towards ?; how can I improve my relationship with ? - turning their reading back on themselves. D…

I have recently decided to look into a situation that has been going on for 4 months I must of encountered this card every reading I have done , whenever I am leisurely shuffling my cards I find this card on the top or bottom of the pile and when I randomly select a card yes it’s the 4 of chalices. It has mostly been subconscious or a fleeting thought that I should look into it more seriously , I have started to a few times but either been distracted , or gotten busy or brushed it off , ironically my reading around this card has brought up similar attributes so here goes the 4 of chalices I am listening and you have my full attention , Any input on the card mos…

I’m doing a reading about a friendship/crush(?) idk but I pulled these three cards as their opinion of me; what vibes I give off to them, and I’m having a bit of a confused time. the first two point to maybe a pleasant but distant acquaintanceship, however the Tower card is tripping me up a bit. its coming off to me like they maybe had their opinion of me unexpectedly changed and maybe it went from bad to good/vice versa but I’m not sure if I’m confident in that interpretation just yet

I've been struggling some lately with these two cards. I know the five is traditionally read as "defeat" - but it's interesting because the art in most cards really foregrounds the victory. (In my go-to deck, the victor looks sad about winning, rather than smug, but he's still clearly foregrounded). I'm curious - particularly for those who don't rely on keywords, how often are you reading that card from the perspective of the losers vs the winner in the foreground? I have similar issues with the 7. The risk of loss from theft, sure, but it can also be gaining via deception? How often do you read that as underhanded victory as opposed to losing because of perfidy? H…

Hey guys. I'm using the golden art nouveau tarot deck and I have encountered some problems with this 5 of cups. I would like to know your opinions. 1. As you can see, the 3 fallen cups has liquid with different colours (one is red, could that be wine or blood? One is blue or transparent, I suppose water) what do you think this refers to? Elements? 2. I understand that this man in the 5 of cups original card is quite depressed, disappointed, regret or feeling powerless because the 3 fallen cups, meanwhile he ignored the 2 upright cups behind him, which could be some emotional support that he can have once he turned back. But on this card, the upright cups ar…

Wondering what these cards mean for feelings keep pulling 5 of cups rx and 3 of swords rx for a person's feelings and not sure how to interpret. I suppose it can be read as moving away from sadness to healing or perhaps trying to block out sadness...some sources say it means extreme sadness but I wouldn't take it as that at all...I tend to pull cards for myself so that I can better read for others but don't think I've ever pulled these for my own feelings so have no real life experience/confirmation of this reversal..what do you think? For now I'm sort of taking these as blocking emotional pain.

Hey all! I'm fairly new to tarot, and I just got a really pretty deck. I did a six-card deck introduction spread, and for the first position, "What is your most important characteristic?" I got the 5oP. I'm honestly baffled. Is the deck wounded somehow? Does it need my charity? Is it offering me charity that I need? Or am I missing something? For context, spread is 5oP AoW NoC 5oC XXI QoC Any advice is appreciated!

https://benebellwen.com/2017/09/14/5-beginner-tarot-courses-for-free/ Benebell Wen has gathered these and vetted them. Sounds good to me, I quite admire her Her first is Joan Bunnings which is the one I did. If I were a beginner with a fresh active mind I'd take any of her own courses in a new york minute

Hi Everyone- I asked if person X would stop by my house today and I pulled 6 of Cups....I took that to mean a Yes...6 of Cups....Someone that you know making another appearance...Instead, someone else that I know came by to make the delivery that I did not specify in this question. I actually got 4 of Wands when I asked about this other person coming by that did indeed show up. I thought 4 of Wands might mean a vacation...would not be here. So I am trying to troubleshoot...Did I misinterpret the meaning of the cards? This is sort of an open-ended and very basic question....But are there any techniques that you use to feel confident in selecting the cards that you do? Tha…

We all know that 7 of cups means options, dreams, illusions and others of the same nature. I don't know why I don't want to read this particular card as illusion or dreams. Illusions, dreams are all manifestations of the mind. Isn't more of a swords thing since swords suit somehow relates to mind (thoughts.)? I always take this card as option.

There'll be a new edition of Rachel Pollack's 78 degrees of wisdom, released tomorrow (1st March) actually - does anybody know if it will be much different to the old version? The title is slightly different, it is now: Seventy-Eight degrees of wisdom - A Tarot Journey to Self Awareness. I can't find if it has any different or additional content.

Among all these intriguing (and mainly symbolical) pictures, the girl on the 8 of Swords enjoyed my special attention: she reminds me of these scary Japanese vengeful spirits with long black hair - onryo. Even my boyfriend is afraid of them, as they're quite atmospheric. And the environment further adds the tension: swords, bondage, barren plain with a lone mountain. I think she'd make a great character for a horror movie or a videogame with this appearance, and what do you think of her? Also, can she make a significator for an onryo? xD

Hello. I'm doing a celtic cross for someone, and I got 8 wands in "this crosses you" and wheel of fortune in the result. It has never happened to me before to get both these cards in the same reading. Is this some strong message about fate? Or, as I think, has fate crossed this person, but will also help them out? It is a love reading, about a specific person who has wronged the sitter badly. I also got death and the star, so I think the sitter will choose to end the relationship. Thank you so much for any insight <3

Now that I've found you guys in this forum, I have so many questions 😂 Here's the first one. Does anyone here use a 9 card box spread, like the Lenormand, but for tarot? How do you find it works for you using tarot, and what's your favourite way to use it? I've tried this out a few times and I feel it's an awesome alternative to the Celtic Cross and helps me get in more of a storytelling flow. Here's what I've used so far: Past Present Future (dreams/weighing on the mind) Past Present Future (reality/practical) - middle card being the central theme (I don't use a significator) Past Present Future (emotions/undercurrent) Would love to …
