I'm also iffy about yes/no answers, but here's a method I've found quite effective (it's adapted from playing cards): Take out the majors and use only minors. Cups are read as yes, coins/pentacles as maybe, wands as probably not, and swords as no, sorry. You lay out 3 cards with the final card being the definitive answer and the previous cards adding detail. If a court ends the string, this is not the answer but a finishing detail.... the last non-court minor in the row calls it. I use this method with Marseille cards and non-standard correspondences, but I don't see why it wouldn't work (or fit) with RWS and the usual swords=mental, etc. Of course, you could …

I just saw this in an online store. I was surprised that they're actually a thing. So has anybody actually used them? How were they like - were they effective? Which brand/s did you use, and would you recommend them? I don't know if they're available locally, but if they're really good I might import some to test them.

This trimming is not taking place out of aesthetical reasons. I actually really like how it looks visually, and it is already borderless. My issue is the size of it. I struggle with larger decks as I have achy hands. And since this is a deck I am so madly in love with I just knew there was no way that I wouldn’t try my best to trim it down to a more comfortable size. It took me a while to contemplate and plan it. I wanted to keep its proportions so I had to look at every card and measure how much I could remove. I settled on cutting away approximately 5mm per side. I’m gonna start by sharing a before-pic so you see what I’m talking about

Based upon the original and only authorized edition of the famous 78-card Rider-Waite. What is the difference of this version to the Rider Waite? I am a bit confused as the keywords in the LWB are different to what Biddy uses, but she says Keywords are based on RW? For example Ace of Cups According to my LWB: True heart, joy, content, abode, nourishment, abundance, fertility, holy table, felicity hereof According to Biddy: Love, new relationships, compassion, creativity https://www.biddytarot.com/tarot-card-meanings/minor-arcana/suit-of-cups/ace-of-cups/ Thanks for shining some light here ;D

Hello! I hope that this is the right place to post something like this, but does anyone have any advice on pursuing tarot as more than a hobby? This is by no means advertisement for a buisness, but more so for tips and tricks for people who are branching out in their tarot reading adventures! I am no where near this point at all, but I wanted to ask somethings for people who sell tarot services. Specifically ones who sell online! I was curious if people have preferences/experiences using things such as Etsy or Ko-fi. Any tips as well? Finally, I wanted to make sure that if I do pursue something like this, that I know the legal matters involved! I live in New York st…

Hi everyone hope you’re all well...what’s your take on phoning a tarot line for a reading? How many cards do they use? Do you think they can give an effective reading over the phone, I wonder how it works do they shuffle the cards and then ask to ask them to stop? Do they spread them out and ask you to count along to choose the cards? Or do they just shuffle and take the top 3 or 5 or whatever number...just curious as to how a remote reading works 👍

I mean with that very often the cards screams at me "Don't be crazy"/"I guess/believe (hierophant) it's hard for him (ten of wands) not look at you (two of swords). Have you wondered about it? I think some energy may be like a person at you and use the cards just only as one or a few word(s) in read.

https://www.marieclaire.com/health-fitness/a35140909/addicted-to-tarot-cards-essay/ This appeared in my google so i clicked it. I thought at first how it would based On buying tarot decks, and books like my fellow tarotacholics understand. Instead it is a worse addiction.. usually played for laughs in comedy shows like spencer kept following the 8 ball advice in icarley. I think of the old lady in the manitou horror movie coming for a card reading but that was for really in my mind entertainment and social interaction Here it is shared how consulted the tarot for everything overtime and how they moved away from it.

I am writing to you because of my great despair. This tarot reader told me that I have my mother's karma (because I am the second child) and all my relationships will fall apart for no reason because of it. Is this possible? I am very scared! She looked at my entire life in general. For the reading, the woman only uses major arcana. She used the romany tarot spread. With a row for past, present and future. I apologize again for troubling you. My mother was indeed separated from my father, but she always spoke lovingly of him to me and told me she loved him until his death. We also don't have many divorces in our family history. Only one on my mother's side, with my great-…

Hi all! I just found this forum today, and I am so happy that I did! This is my first post, so I guess it will double as an introduction as well as a discussion on some ideas I had. You can call me Adora. I have been reading Tarot for somewhere around 20 years now. Although I didn’t get really serious about learning and memorizing the cards for the past few years. I read based solely on intuition before that. Some of you may recognize me from other forums that used to be around, I certainly see some familiar names here! In my reading career I have always struggled with reversals. For the majority of the time I read I completely disregarded them completely. I had b…

Hello, Lately, I been curious about tarot reading. Okay, more like how do each individuals read the cards? Or more like what is your method? Since no person read the same. Personally, I have to describe the image as well the colors to answer the person question. Hm, does intuitive counts? If not, than sticking to the pretty picture 🤣

I am feeling more FOUR OF SWORDS. Not sick, just kind of pensive, and it's a cold and snowy day, perfect for some rest and rejuvenation and reflection!

FIRST, this is not a Bash-the-Querent thread. Not about questions or querents we don't want, but WHAT do you tell, or WISH to tell, first time querents to help them get the most from their reading? When you have someone who has not just been to YOU before, but maybe never had a reading? I like to tell them how I read, what I read on, and what they can expect from my reading. I encourage them to ask questions BEFORE a reading if they are unsure about the process. That's just me thought, my preference to help me and the querent. What works for you?

We've all heard the conversations about intuitive readers vs by-the-book readers and how that conversation inevitably ends with everyone agreeing that a blend of both sides is key... But, I'm curious - what does that blend look like for you personally? For me - look, I'm a true die hard intuitive. I started with reading signs in the world around me, narrowed into Oracles for fun, then into tarot for diversity. I'll use a tarot deck more like an oracle and whatever comes up comes up for it, even if it veers so far off the beaten track for that card that you wouldn't recognize the actual card definition from what I see in it in that moment. There's no consisten…

Hello! After reading a thread on here about daily readings, I decided it may be good for me to get back into it 🙂 The strange thing is that I pulled three cards, and all three were Major Arcana (The Magician- The Tower- The Hanged Man). Have you had experience pulling all Major Arcana Cards for a reading? If so, did anything significant happen that day?

this Lo Scarabeo 2019 deck is based on the Sola Busca of 1491, and the language is Italian I believe. I think the last word is infinity but can anyone translate the ribbon and other words on the disc edge? I'm not having any luck with on-line translators, they seem to think I am ordering a plate of chips.

The Aged Look is definitely out there for all kinds of decks, especially tarot. What irritates me is that they are designed to look, well, old and yet some have backs that don't match the aged look and have TOO WHITE borders. I antique linen the edges of decks, some darker, some lighter, but those too white borders on front or the backs, just don't match the deck for me. I was surprised the Borderless Smith Waite, which I see as basically the Centennial just without borders and a different color back, had a back that was not only not borderless, but has those WHITE borders. Anyone else like the "aged" decks to match borders and backs? I am p…

I had a man tell me once that "You have to keep your cards hot"' meaning that you have to use them regularly. And I've found this to be true - not just with cards in general, in the sense of staying in practice, but with individual decks. Let me explain: If I put surplus decks in a box, shelve them and forget them for a few years, then pull them out and use them, they don't seem to work as well as decks I use regularly. Neither do new decks. It's not a matter of being out of practice, I've found that this is the case with traditional Lenormand decks as well. The long-unused ones will work, but they don't seem as clear and on point as whatever deck I've been using. The …

With the cost of living increasing and people having to stretch their budgets more and more, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where we can post tips and tricks for getting decks and readings and everything tarot and divination related as cheap as possible. Ideas that won't break the budget. We already have a list of free resources for learning tarot and online tarot courses - The big list of free resources for learning tarot We also have De-enabling thread where you can post decks you want to buy and we will talk you out of it 🙂 - This is the DE-ENABLE thread concerning buying and reading of tarot Please post your bes…

How do you prefer to read tarot card combinations? 1. By order of what card comes first 2. By arcana (major first) 3. As long as the cards appear on the same reading, does not matter Sent from my RNE-L22 using Tapatalk

So I’ve never tried asking a sex question but I’m totally new to it with tarot’s. I asked the question of how this guy feels having sex with me or something along those lines. I pulled these cards and in this order left to right : nine of Wands reversed. Two of Wands reversed. 10 of pentacles. So at first I was like dang does he find this boring or lame? But that wouldn’t make sense because we both seem so open minded to new things and I’ve had him try a lot of new things. It was the 10 of pentacles that I liked to see though as it represents a content couple, wisdom maybe showing intellectual connection, the baby maybe seen as more than just some random sex thing but mor…

ratty asked this in another thread "I need to buy some new jeans, my old ones are getting a bit tatty, but I can't decide what colour. What colour do you think I should get?" it was kind of the extreme of a trivial question for after all the colour would be kind of personal to the situation, for conjecture here.. I imagine if I did a celtic cross on this,, and I looked at the beneath you card it would deal perhaps why a certain colour might be your favourite.. this is behind you,, perhaps it might look at why you are changing your colour schemes, to this is above you, perhaps It might point to what is you best colour or reversed, why a colour wouldn't work on …

Apophenia is the tendency to see connections where there are none. Like finding recognisable shapes in clouds. Is that what is happening when we read tarot cards or indeed any form of divination? Are we making meaning out of meaningless things? Do we really resonate with readings or are we making them fit or just seeing the things that fit and forgetting the things that don't? This is just something I've wondered about for a while. So I'm interested in hearing peoples perspectives on this.
