Around a year ago, I marvelled at how all of Llewellyn's new releases were released in sturdy box kits. Their previous sets came in heavily derided, flimsy paper boxes, and I guess they finally listened to the public's clamor for something that would not easily fall apart with minor handling. In the thread that I linked, I did wish that they would also release their beloved classic Tarot kits in hard boxes too. I love the Tarot of Vampyres and the Golden Dawn Magical Tarot and use them often, so the boxes that they came in are now in a sorry state. I wished that if I do buy backup copies, these would come in sturdier boxes since I prefer keeping my deck and book sets i…

I'm also iffy about yes/no answers, but here's a method I've found quite effective (it's adapted from playing cards): Take out the majors and use only minors. Cups are read as yes, coins/pentacles as maybe, wands as probably not, and swords as no, sorry. You lay out 3 cards with the final card being the definitive answer and the previous cards adding detail. If a court ends the string, this is not the answer but a finishing detail.... the last non-court minor in the row calls it. I use this method with Marseille cards and non-standard correspondences, but I don't see why it wouldn't work (or fit) with RWS and the usual swords=mental, etc. Of course, you could …

This isn’t a query about a particular draw. Rather I wanted to see what others think on this issue. Let’s say there’s a subject on which we have strong feelings and opinions. Could be anything from a political opinion to a strong family relationship. I feel I imprint too many of my emotions on a reading and the cards drawn show me what I want to see rather than what I should see..... How often do you doubt your readings on subjects you’re emotionally invested in? Where you may feel you’ve drawn cards that back your emotions and feelings and validate your viewpoint. In such situations do you feel a prickle of doubt?

Hi everyone! I decided to start a new thread on this particular subject because I started making some Tarot boxes. I often do custom DVD/Blu-ray covers for my movie collection, and I decided to do the same for some of my Tarot decks. I plan to do custom boxes for decks that comes in kits. The kits comes with a book and most of the time, the cards doesn't have a box to store the deck. For years I stored them in bags but it's hard (for me) to remember which deck is stored in which bag; i'm struggling when I want to pile them up; and I saw that some decks might bend with time. Mine are rather simple, and I don't add any UPC code or anything fancy, but it's perfect to be p…

So today my husband had probation and then court. I drew a card for the outcome of probation and I received the 5 of air which is called Conflict and Defeat. Probation was a breeze...no problems at all. Then I drew a card for the outcome of court and I received the 7 major called Triumph or the Chariot. Court did not go well. My husband lost his license for another year. The cards should have been opposite. I'm using John Holland's Psychic Tarot. I'm starting to think the cards don't work afterall. I am disappointed. What went wrong?

Hey there! :) So, without getting into too many details, my husband doesn't want me to use tarot. He thinks it's "derived from the Devil" and has told me he doesn't want it in his house. I can totally understand where he is coming since he comes from a very religious background. I do too, but I have found my own way. When we met, he knew of my different spiritual beliefs and use of Tarot. It wasn't a problem, but now it is. Tarot is a part of me. It'd be like me telling him I didn't want bibles in the house. He asked me to show him how I do a typical reading. I did. Y'all...it was like tearing myself open :( the look on his face. Anyone else have experience with…

I was wondering if anyone else here either is on the spectrum or has read for someone on the spectrum... I will admit that my first draw to the Tarot was the -system- of it, and right now I'm definitely in the information hoarding phase of my interest for them (which is a familiar thing to any person with autism). Learning about the cards, their meanings, and meditating on the readings I'm doing for myself has been very calming and enjoyable for me. I love the learning of it, the history of it, all of that. The tactile nature of the cards is also very magnetic to me. When I look at the cards and feel them speaking to me, it's such a compelling feeling. But I worry abou…

Hi all. How much time do you think should be allowed to pass before reading again on the same topic? One where the querent’s position (or yours) may not have changed, but other factors might? Relationships for instance? A week? 6 weeks? And at what point would you recommend a new reading, to make sure you understand *current* circumstances, and are not considering outdated info?

When I read, I ask the cards to tell me a story about me that is true for today. I don’t ask yes or no questions, I don’t do divination, I don’t apply my readings to specific situations, and I definitely don’t ask “third party” questions such as “Does he love me?” or “Is she cheating on her husband?” Tarot is for me a spiritual Rorschach test, a mirror into my soul. I just read to see what is going on with me today. I use a five card spread of my own design – the Axis of Time and the Axis of Place – like this: 5 this is around me 2 this is behind me 1 this is the here and now 3 this is before me …

I don't know if there is already an active thread discussing/studying birth year cards. If there is, could someone please point me to it? If not, I'd like to start one. (This one right here, if here is appropriate, or in another section of the Forum if that makes more sense.) Again, please advise! I was unfamiliar with birth year cards until recently. I just computed mine at https://labyrinthos.co/blogs/learn-tarot-with-labyrinthos-academy/how-to-calculate-your-tarot-birth-card-plus-short-birth-card-meanings-infographic and I couldn't be more blown away!

If any of you get paid for readings, how much do you charge? My mum suggested that perhaps this could get me through college, instead of waiting tables or working at a grocery store. And I have sold a few readings through etsy. But I have charged 1 or 2 dollars, and I have given really in depth readings (up to 800 words written reply) and allowed for follow up questions. I have had to limit it to one follow up question, because some costumers really have asked so many follow up questions, that I have worked for over 3 hours on one purchase, for 1 dollar. Then, I'd do better working at a store. So it's hard work, too, when people really...Uh, do you in english have t…

Hi - I’ve been looking at Biddy Tarot’s Mastering the Cards Meaning classes. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it’s worth the cost? I’ve recently picked up Tarot again after a very long break and feel it might help me refresh my knowledge. Thanks in advance xoxoxo

Hey, I am new in this forum, would be nice if you can help me, because I am kinda afraid and confused. I`ve always been drawn to tarot, gemstones and white as well as dark magical things. But everytime I start getting a little bit more into it I get this weird feeling. My english is not good enough to explain it the right way... Just yesterday I tried another run oracle and as soon as I touched the stones the feelings came back. I tried to explain it to myself that it is imagination something psycholigic, but as older as I grow the more I am sure about it being no imagination. I am not the little girl anymore, imagine fairies and imagine seeing aura. So, you se…

Have you ever doubted your reading? Like, the answer you are always getting from the cards seems to be too good to be true (the question is not like getting a gold mansion or something far-fetched like that)? It is like your intuition is agreeing with the cards, but your brain says "hey be realistic! You know that ain't gonna happen." Sent from my RNE-L22 using Tapatalk

Do you think readings made on Youtube (pick a pile readings) are accurate? I can see there's quite a lot videos done for it. Sent from my RNE-L22 using Tapatalk

Hello Everybody. This is my first post. I used to be a member of the Aeclectic Tarot Forum. This topic I just started has been at the back of my mind for a while. This is something I have noticed about the Trump cards which does not get much mention. They come in pairs. The pairs go as follows: The Fool and The World (the first and last cards) The Magician and The Priestess The Empress and The Emperor The Pope and The Lovers The Chariot and Strength The Hermit and Fortune Justice and The Hanged Man Death couples with Judgement. In between Death and Judgement we get the final six cards. Temperance and The Devil The Tower and T…

How do you prefer to read tarot card combinations? 1. By order of what card comes first 2. By arcana (major first) 3. As long as the cards appear on the same reading, does not matter Sent from my RNE-L22 using Tapatalk

it was a hard day.. no reads but one.. took us a while to get started. due to my top of my gazebo was missing.. so my mom brought herself one.. and that way we can get 2 sunwalls. it was one of the hottest day of the years.. i sat there wilting.. finally i had my only read about 730.. now keep in mind.. thursday is always the slowest day,, the best i ever got was 80,, my lowest was 10 i think. so 20 dollars seems like nothing, but that goes towards the 150 fee.. so tomorrow i only have to make 130 ,, and the rest is mine.. for saturday too. anyhow here is how it went down. she was 18,, she told me she used to read the tarot,, i look at her,, thinking …

Prompted by some discussions and comments I thought I should start this topic since I know we're a diverse bunch on here who use tarot for so many different things. For a while I've been not quite in the mood for tarot, because I burned myself out doing small daily readings. Daily readings can be fun and it's nice to see a card every day, but the way I went about it just exhausted me. While I'm not ready to delve back into tarot again just yet I was thinking about how I could use the cards for other things than guidance when I do get into it again. I'm not feeling as lost or confused anymore as a general state so I don't feel the need to ask my deck for advice about my…

(Excuse the pun lol) I’ve read a few different things of people edging their decks and was even gifted a Golden Universal edged in black (thanks again CharlotteK) and thought “oh! What a great idea! It can’t be too hard, I think I’ll give it a go.” So off I tottered and bought myself a couple of metallic sharpies (silver for my Shadowscapes deck and copper for my Froud Faeries Oracle).... I think I was a bit gung ho and didn’t do quite enough research though because after drawing all the colour on the edges of my Faeries (I should have chosen a better copper medium!) I put them aside to let them dry for a bit and when I came back to them to give them a shuffle (uh oh) …

Does anyone here has some light to shed on regarding some individual cards and card combos that not only indicate the asker's romantic interest doesn't have any feelings for them but they possibly feel sorry, disgusted or even petrified of them--like they feel you/the questioner is a weird, stalker sort of type to the point that they are almost about to call the cops or do other sorts of protective measures against you??or they desperately want to see you or the asker be happy and move on with somebody else? For my little personal experience reading myself and others, the following cards indicate no romantic feelings: -Death (80% of the time I've pulled this card a…
