Does anyone know if anything is wrong with Ethony? Like previous years, I requested the free Tarot by the Moon book this year (although a bit late). I unsubscribed from her newsletter last year, because aaaalllll the newsletters - not just hers - tend to get a bit much. But I didn't receive a confirmation email, no email with link to download, etc. Tried with another email address; still nothing. My intuition was always strong and I feel like it's really developed a lot in the last couple of years. However, I have some issues like OCD where I get very obsessive about things (especially negative) and tend to ruminate when something triggers me. Hey! I was thinking to start doing past life readings for a while- as ways to deal/understand the events of one's current cycle- would love some ideas to spreads/ insights as to how to do this!

I am looking for everyone's favorite spread to read for others (vs. ourselves) when it comes to relationships. They don't have to be about romantic love; family, workplace relationships and close friendships all count to. In particular, I'm looking for spreads of 3-8 cards with each positional noted. How do you guys feel about yes/no-spreads? I know it's best to ask open questions (what do I need to know, what does... mean, how can I ...) but I've been thinking about signing up for an event. I'm really curious to participate, but on the other hand I don't know if I'm ready to yet. How would you formulate the question? Somebody have a spread that could work?

Hi everyone, Usually I practice reading the cards by doing one for myself about once a month. I like the reading because it's only since recently that I've been able to 'read' them intuitively. I've been able to give myself a good reading but I've run out of questions now. I'm not really interested in how a visit from my friends will go, I'm 100% sure it will be fine. And I don't have enough going on in my personal life to do a daily card. I'm usually just home alone. Does anyone have some tips on how to practice reading the cards without a querent and question? When I run out of meatier subjects to explore in my blog posts, I fall back on spread creation. Lately I've been taken with what I call "mixed-media" spreads using cards and another method of divination (mainly as a "pointer" for card selection). Someone online gave me the notion that a three-card line resembles the three windows of an old-time slot machine that roll up randomly when you pull the lever. I decided to make a spread that emulates it, using three stacks of six cards and a single six-sided die. Deal 18 cards any way you choose into three equal piles, roll the die for each pile and, counting down from the top, find the card that matches the number of spots that came up. Form the line and read it the same way you would any three-card sequence.

I often see people asking for dream-analysis spreads but never created one specifically for that purpose. Here is a link to one that I adapted from one of my past-life spreads. I came up with this spread based on a seasonal reflection writing workshop I took last week. I can’t take any credit for the idea, because I just put together some of the writing prompt questions given to us by the workshop leader, Randon Billings Noble, and turned them into a tarot spread. Most of you know that I'm not a fan of 3-card readings since I think they take too narrow a slice of the deck and tell too shallow a story. If I use them, I prefer to extract the cards from a larger population of drawn cards using some kind of a "pointer." In this case I'm relying on the nominal "facing" of the figures or landscape features on the cards in each of three positions to determine which of them to read in the columns. (This is what used to be called a "Chinese menu" approach ["I'll have one from Column A, one from Column B and one from Column C"], but I imagine that is now politically incorrect.) Although I find horary astrology much more effective than tarot for locating misplaced objects or missing people, there is something to be said for using the elemental properties of the minor and court cards as pointers for where to look for the subject of a reading. I built this spread around the suggestions of astrologer John Frawley in his book The Horary Textbook, which I adapted for use with the cards. Although the guidance doesn’t mention it, reversals can be used with this spread to imply the degree of visibility of the subject in its physical location.

I've never much liked the one-card daily draw because it implies that a single type of activity will prevail for an entire 24-hour period. For me, it fails to portray the opportunity for "change-over-time" unless we "intuit" it from the card's inherent nature. I've been seeking a model that can show shifts in the querent's "energy pattern" that may occur over the span of a day. Occasionally when I'm in the mood I've done hand drawn spreads and historically instagram (Ammers10) and reddit have really like them. Thought you guys might as well! The one I'm working on now is called "Notes from Mom" and is a lunch box with affirmation notes in it. 🙂

Anyone ever use the cards to predict the weather? I'm beginning to think they could be more accurate than the weather folks on tv. Imagine getting the Fool and The Tower for "What will the weather like tomorrow?"
