In the bottom part of the card, we can see a calico cat sleeping on some white smooth surface (bed sheets?). The rest of the card is composed of many individual elements that probably represent what her dreams are made of. We can see a grey tabby kitten, a mouse sitting in a pile of dry leaves, a water fountain with a bird bathing in it, some kind of pink flowers, the face of a cat with half-closed eyes, a flying fish jumping over water, a bowl filled with shrimps, a fish-shaped cat toy, a branch of catnip flowers and a double fountain flowing with milk. Colors : Nothing stands out, but the colors are quite vibrant. This card is dealing with our dreams and wish…

A grey cat sleeping on a dark grey surface and seems to be having bad nightmares. We can see an exploding firecracker, electricity/lightning, a threatening large dog showing their teeth, thorny twigs, a bird of prey with their sharp claws, a tornado, a threatening cat showing their theeth, a tick and a threatening snake. Colors : Mainly grey. This card is there to remind us that ''[…] fears that overtake you are just that : fears.'' Whether they came from a vivid dream or from reality, they shouldn't cause disruptions to your everyday life. As the author advises, ''Wake up and put things back in perspective.'' Symbolism : Grey color : Symbolizes uncerta…

This thread will be used to talk about the relationships between multiple cards. Their similarities/differences, continuity of an event, comparison between suits, etc. I will start with a comparison between the 4 Aces. The 4 Clans relate to one of the elements and that element is visible on each card : -Flames for the Fire element on the Ace of Fire -Wave for the Water element on the Ace of Sea -Wind for the Air element on the Ace of Sky -Vegetation for the Earth element on the Ace of Earth The emblem of the Fire Clan has the shape of a heater shield and the one for the Sky Clan is exhibited on a gonfalon banner. Both show a heraldic inspiration and the ten…

We can see a grey spotted tabby cat lying down while she's carefully watching over a hole in the ground. The hole is at the base of a mound or steep slope and looks like the typical arched mouse hole (according to the book, it's in fact a rabbit burrow). The ground is bare where the cat is lying, but various plants can be seen around, including some moss, weeds and grass. Seven white mushrooms are growing on the moss. We can see the base of a tree on top of the mound, its long surface roots showing all around it. Colors : Green and brown. This card is about being patient and persistent in order to achieve your goal. It advises you to accept to be passive for a…

We can see a calico cat standing on a rock, their back facing us. They are holding their left paw high in the air with all claws out in an aggressive/defensive manner. There is a yellow flame-like light flashing all around it and small yellow lights reminiscent of fireflies. 7 little flames are burning over the cat's head, like we saw in the Six of Fire. They seem to be trying to scare away 3 other cats and it indeed looks like they fear the fiery light coming out of the paw. The lower half of the background is almost an opaque black. Higher on the left, we can see various shades of grey and on the right, various shades of beige and reddish-brown. Colors : Contrast…

We can see an orange and white Scottish Fold tabby cat standing up while he's being surrounded by mysterious bubbles. Seven soap bubbles of various sizes are floating around and over his head. They all display the image of a large blue wave inside them and a rainbow reflection on their outline. The cat has a surprised look on his face (this impression is enhanced by the natural folding of his ears) and is in the act of bursting a bubble with his claws. The surroundings don't look like a real world setting. The background consists of mixed areas of white, grey and blue. Colors : Mostly blue and white stand out. The mysterious bubbles and setting of this card re…

We can see 2 cats on this card, one grey tabby and one brown tabby. The grey tabby is lying on his belly and is keeping a mouse captive by holding its tail under his left front paw. The brown tabby is standing with her right front paw up, while she's facing the other side towards a flight of 7 red-winged blackbirds. Both cats are located outdoors on some beige ground and in the background, we can see some grass, a bare tree on the right and a Roman temple on the left. The sky is very pale grey in color, almost white. Colors : Nothing particularly stands out to me. Without the book, I wouldn't have guessed what exactly is going on on this card. The brown tab…

4 cats are sitting around a large bowl filled with food. The scene is taking place indoors. One cat looks rather large and has a curly beige coat, one is a small grey tabby and the other two are little grey tabby kittens. The 3 tabby cats seem to have some dirt on them in a few spots. The beige cat is licking the adult tabby's head, making magical purple sparkles appear. The large silver bowl is full of brown food, seemingly various meat and seafood. There are 6 green stones decorating the bowl. The adult tabby has her front paws on a small brown and green footstool. In the background, there is a small round table on the left with a jar full of leaves sitting on it. 2…

A big tabby cat is lying on the ground, their head turned towards us. They have a good sampling of toys next to them, along with some flowers. A small flame, seemingly of magical origin, is burning over their head. Behind this cat, 5 other ones are coming from different directions with cat toys in their mouths. It looks like they intend to make offerings to the tabby cat with the flame. They are located outdoors, seemingly in the wild and it's nighttime. They are all walking on flat naked ground, but many trees can be seen in the background. The sky is dark grey in color and many stars are visible, along with the Milky Way. Colors : The cats are all of different co…

We can see a large pool in which 3 kittens are swimming. 3 other kittens are on the edge of the pool, with 2 of them being in the act of jumping in. The last one is leaning forward and seems to be looking at his reflection in the water. The walls of the pool are made of blue tiles and the floor around it is grey. Behind the pool there is a beige wall with a row of blue tiles at the bottom and a large painting hanging on it. The frame is made of small blue tiles and the painting shows a white tiger swimming among large waves. Colors : Pale blue, very soothing. This card is about the playfulness and carelessness of childhood. As the author puts it ''Youthfulness…

An orange tabby cat is walking away from a fight, an unhappy look displayed on his face. There are a few wounds on his face, but nothing that looks too serious. While he is walking in some tall grass, the one on which the cats are fighting behind seem to be short. There are 5 cats fighting all claws out and teeth ready to snap, their bodies and limbs flying around in the middle of a pile of dust and debris. 6 yellow leaves are also flying around. In the background, we can see a layer of white fog or diffuse clouds right above the ground. The sky gradually turns to blue and a few defined white clouds can be seen. Colors : A lot of yellow/orange and green. Thi…

A grey and white cat with blue eyes is standing on a gingko tree branch, looking at the sky. The cat is surrounded by a whitish halo that reminds me of the outer part of a galaxy, especially in the tail area. The night time sky takes up a good half of the card. Many stars are visible and among them, the Leo constellation is present, with a lion drawn over its emplacement. Colors : Dark blue According to the book, this card is about cosmic consciousness. It means that we must become aware of the ''[…] meaning and intention in the pattern of our lives.'' The biggest advice this card has for us is to ''have faith that everything in your life is unfolding exactly…

We can see five cats sunbathing on a veranda, with three lying on the ground and two located on the railing. They are all of different colors and I cannot identify any breed in particular. In clockwise fashion, from top left : an orange tabby, a black and white, a calico, another orange tabby and a grey cat. The ground seems to be made of yellow marble and has a large yellow and orange Sun drawn in the middle. Right behind, we can see a gold statue of the Goddess Sekhmet standing on a red pedestal. Behind the statue we can see the beige railing delimiting the area until it comes to an end where a yellow marble wall starts. We can see a rounded doorless entrance, with ano…

The scene taking place on the card is directly following the one found on the Nine of Fire. The ritual fire seems to getting a bit explosive, as we can see 10 fire balls shooting out of the pot and flames already spreading everywhere in the room. 5 cats are still visible and seem to be panicking while they are trying to hide or run away. Colors : Orange and brown This card warns us about the danger of losing control when trying to handle too much at once. The energy went from a nice flow being channeled collectively to total chaos and 'everyone for themselves'! If it's too late for this time, the author advises us to ''[r]ething your strategy for next time so yo…

In the Mystical Cats Tarot, The Cat is the equivalent of The Fool. He leads us on the Way of the Cat, reminder of the usual Fool's Journey. You can see a cat standing in the middle of a cat-size paved way, smelling flowers and appearing quite relaxed and non-threatened. He's a typical mackerel grey tabby cat (striped), which is not a breed but a common pattern seen in cats. His underside from chin to abdomen and his paws are white. We can assume he's not in a rush, as his whole body is turned sideways (not facing towards the road) while he's smelling some flowers. We can see a lot of plants and flowers in the front of the image, but they become more sparse along the wa…

On this card, we can see a cat riding a chariot led by 2 dogs. The cat is mainly black (or dark grey?) with part of his chest and face being white. He also has a small patch of black above his mouth, making it look like a man's mustache. I couldn't help but think it resembles Hitler's mustache (sorry kitty). He's looking straight ahead and has his paws set on the chariot's edge in a very straight way too. There is a large yellow halo (like bursting rays) around him. The chariot, which looks like it's made of bronze or brass, has a roaring lion face on the front of its roof. On each side of the cat, there are 2 pillar-like structures with 'foliage' (made of the same …

A red British Shorthair cat is sitting on a red and gold throne. He's wearing a gold necklace of purple/pink stones. He's looking at the reader with a serious and fierce look on his face. It struck me that his claws were somewhat visible on his front paws, as if not completely retracted. His tail is wrapped around his body, partly covering his front paws. Behind his head, on the throne's back, there is a golden laurel wreath. Above the wreath, on top of the throne, there is a golden crown. The throne is standing on top of a marble pillar that appears to be quite high, judging by the horizon line and the size of the trees in the back. The sky takes about half of the backg…

I can't be 100% sure, but I believe the Empress is a Turkish Angora cat. Her overall appearance and the Ottoman Empire feel of the card made me think so. So, let's say a white Turkish Angora cat is lying on a big red and gold cushion, feeding her babies. 4 kittens appear to be drinking, while one is standing, facing and looking towards the reader. The mother has her eyes closed and looks peaceful. She is wearing a head crown seemingly made of silver and gemstones. The cats are situated inside a purple tent. There is a band of golden fabric at the junction of the ceiling and the wall, a pink cushion on the floor and 8 roses scattered around the cushions. The tent is pla…

This card is the equivalent of the traditional Hanged Man card. We can see a calico cat literally floating in the air. Her body is a bit twisted, a bit like when a cat is stretching languidly on the ground. When looking at the card reversed, I found that the way her front paws are placed looks like the traditional Hanged Man legs placement. She has one eye closed, as if she was winking at us. There are white sparkles all around her to show that magic is at work in this unusual situation. 3 long and thin pieces of wood are attached together, creating a kind of square arch around the cat. All around the arch, there are several flowering morning glories. I…

Please bear with me on this one, I have a LOT to say and even though I tried to connect my thoughts in a logical way and make my explanations as flowing as possible...well in any case, if something is not clear please let me know! :) A very big grey and white tabby cat is lying in a pomegranate tree. He is in a loaf/bun position, his eyes are semi-closed and to me it looks like he's smiling...a bit like Mona Lisa, I'd even venture to say. The tree is bearing ripe fruits and 12 pomegranates are depicted on the card. One of them is split open, which means it's very ripe. On the lower part of the card, we can see the trunk going further down, small branches and dense …

This card might not have as much rich and complex symbolism as the first ones, but the message is as purposeful and direct. 2 grey cats are cuddling on a purple cushion. Their eyes are closed and there is a definite feeling of well-being, you can almost hear them purring. Notice the position of their bodies, making them look like a kitty version of the yin-yang symbol. They are located outdoors, but there is a wooden arch above them with red/dark pink wild roses climbing around it. Behind them, we see a garden with a path leading to an exit, which happens to be a hole in between 2 long shrub walls. In the background, a tall mountain can be seen and we can catch som…

Hello my fellow Mystical Cats lovers! Truthfully, this card ain't the most easy one to decipher! I might need some help on the symbolism of this one, if anybody is somewhat knowledgeable about Egyptian symbology? So indeed the Priest is clearly a bronze-colored Egyptian Mau, wearing a multicolored Egyptian necklace. He's sitting on the ground, his left paw placed on a golden sphere covered with Egyptian symbols. He's facing us, but he's not looking in our eyes. We're not sure if he's gazing at something in particular or if he might be having a vision perhaps? Behind him, on his left, we can see a round golden tray containing embers and ashes. Pale smoke is coming o…

I'm pretty sure the Priestess depicted on this card is a Russian Blue cat. (See the silky bluish silver coat, bright green eyes, dark nose and large ears.) She is sitting in an amethyst cave and is looking directly at the reader. She's wearing a silver necklace with 3 amethyst crystal points. Through 2 openings at the back, we can see it's night time outside. Many stars and a moon crescent (wet/horned moon) can be seen. There is also a mountain and some foliage. Interestingly, the amethyst crystals are not covering all sides of the card. In the lower left corner, there is an opening, meaning there is a part of the cave we can't see from our viewpoint. Colors : Purpl…

A black cat is lying down in a bun/loaf position, a somewhat disturbed face on (eyes quite wide open at least). There are 2 small birds resting on him and 1 cuddled against his side. They appear friendly and relaxed. I'm taking a wild guess (after some non-conclusive research) and would say they might be young blue jays. If anybody is able to make a more educated guess please do! The scene takes place outdoors and the cat is lying on a flagstone ground. Behind him, on the left of the card, there is a bush with a branch making a loop in the shape of the infinity symbol. The symbol lies directly above the head of the cat, like in the original depiction of the Strength ca…

We can see 3 cats falling from a very high and fancy cat tree. The 3 are falling from different heights and have their bodies in different positions. The highest one, a white and orange tabby cat, is on their back with a look of uncertainty on their face. The one in the middle, an orange spotted tabby cat with dark points, is on their side with their back facing us. The lowest one, a grey classic (blotched) tabby cat, has their paws facing down and is looking towards the ground, seemingly ready to land. When looking at them one after the other, you can see the progression in their body positions. The cat tree is made of a yellow marble pillar-like structure that …
