My notes on The Fool is that The Fool joyously walks into the unknown, stepping into a new adventure. I was listening to a YouTube video where the person on the video talked about The Fool not paying attention to his surroundings, and the dog was warning him that he might fall off the cliff. So, my question is does The Fool knowingly step off the cliff or does the dog warn him about not stepping off the cliff? Rick

Hello everybody, today I'd like to ask you for some clues about the 3 of Wands in terms of job hunting. In particular, I'd like to know how this card can be interpreted as advice, especially when you keep on sending your CV, but get no answer. Does it mean "just wait and see" or there's another message I'm missing? Thank you so much.

In the past few months I have received the Chariot in a few smaller, but important readings. I've been thinking about it quite a lot as of late as I question its relation to cards that feel similar - The 10 of Wands for example, when touching on the more "working hard" aspects of the Chariot. It also sometimes reminds me of the 9 cards to a degree, the 9 of Pentacles, the 9 of Cups... I think the thing that intrigues me most is that it seems to carry the energy of many other cards, reminds me of other cards, yet is wholly unique. It is both "victory" and "perseverance", "coming out the other end" and "jumping in". It feels like a fiery card, even with some relation to Hel…

In researching the 7 of Swords, the majority of meanings are negative. While we need these types of cards to deal with all realities of life, what meanings have you gleaned where the 7 of swords was a positive? Here's what i came up with: Looking out for themselves because they're in a hostile environment Being extremely strategic in their moves and communications Not revealing all of their cards or even deception by omission as self preservation Coming up with temporary means of communication in order to not have a paper trail Communicating in a way that gets others to reveal secrets or sensitive information to your benefit I…

So about a week ago I asked one of my coworkers if I could pull cards for him. I told him that I had been studying Tarot and would like to practice with him, he didn’t say no. But he didn’t say yes all he said was he had never gotten a Tarot reading done before. He went off to do some work and while he was gone I went and asked my cards if he would let me pull for him. I got the hermit, after almost an hour later he came back and asked me if I would pull cards for him. I agreed but I was shocked, because when I pulled the hermit I instantly thought no he wasn’t going to let me pull for him. The hermit to me is about isolation, withdrawal, retreating, and separating yourse…

Hello everyone. I would like to share some thoughts about the High Priestess. Looking at my notes I come to the conclusion that most of the times the HP comes as a secret in my readings.Something that the querent doesn’t no or he is not in a position to know. For example a few days ago I did a ‘new year’ spread for a member of my family and for January she had HP with another card that can indicate death. After a few days she found out that a friend of her’s died three months ago and she didn’t know about it. I would really like you to share your thoughts.

Though it hasn't popped up a lot lately, it's been bugging me for quite some time what this card could possibly mean. I kept getting it during my daily readings, too. My intuition at the time was telling me it was about my friend (who is young), but I couldn't figure out what exactly that meant? I can explain a little what was going down: I really needed to talk to her - we were in a bad place because of a recent diagnosis I acquired, and I was planning on visiting her. I was really super paranoid about all of that. That's why I kept pulling this card. I was also trying to get the money to go visit her as fast as I could. Any help at all would be f…

Hi all, I'm still learning to navigate the meanings & symbolism of the original RWS cards. I've noticed a fair amount of differing interpretations depending on the source*, but in most cases I am able to compare expert opinion & make a logical & intuitive decision that works for me. In other cases I'm stuck as nothing seems to make sense! So I'd like to ask your opinion 🙂 Example: Ace of Swords. Atop the sword is a crown (authority/power), with 2 dangling branches. The sources* so far have said on the left side: Olive branch (mercy), Mistletoe or Laurel (victory) But none of these have red berries, so I'm not filled with much confiden…

I'm currently reading The Thoth Companion (M.O. Snuffin) and adding to my notes. For the Prince of Cups, I'm confused about his element. According to my 'research' I found the Thoth Prince = Waite Knight. In my notes I have Knights as fire, but in the book it says Princes are Air. While I thought Kings were Air... I'm lost. Or do Thoth and Waite just have a different approach and I should seperate the two schools in my notes?

With all the discussion around the 3 of Swords, it has me curious what cards others feel most often could represent a DNS experience. I am thinking the 3S, 9S, 10S, maybe the 9W, 10W, and possibly the 5P and the 5C. Obviously context is everything. I am curious if there are cards that clue you into that energy.

Hi all X/ I've done some thinking. I wrote another place here about corruption being something that possible has to do with a snake, but after some reflections I found out that my initial thought was wrong and that it belongs to the tarot card The Moon. From www.learntarot.com one can learn that some keywords for The Moon is "illusions", "accepting a false picture" and "bewilderment". Corruption is another keyword I will add to that. It gets protected by making a false picture, it makes us live in an illusion and in the word bewilderment is the word wild - which makes me think of the wild, howling wolf - and that corrupted people only follows the law of wild …

In various card readings and numerology (number 16) i always struggle with what to do when the tower comes up. I think i understand it’s meaning (big change, stress, etc) but in all the information i can find about the tower it always looks as if a big interference is happening from outside. Aa something you don’t have any control over and will give you a lot of stress and will finally change your perspective or actions. To me it presents itself as something one has te endure but not act upon. To give an example: i recently had two towers in a numerology reading (as two periodic influences). In this case the working environment was very stress full and startin…

(And the rest of the court cards, for that matter) Hi I'm back again, with a topic that I'm not sure has been had in the forums yet. I've struggled with the court cards for a long time, and although I've started understanding them a little more especially recently, I get stumped with differentiating the Queens and Kings mostly because the cards that I've used have always gendered them in obvious or visible ways, which makes it hard for me to remove them from their stereotypical gender roles. What's the difference between the Queens and Kings anyway? I've read about the queen being more nurturing, sympathetic, motherly etc. and the King being more responsible, …

Not sure if 8 of Wands has shown up this way for anyone else's readings but twice now it has shown up in readings I did about people who passed in accidents where the event happened very quickly and could not be stopped once it was started... The first reading was about Kobe Bryant's death.... I took the 8 of Wands to be talking about how the incident with the helicopter happened very fast and that once it had begun there was no way to stop it from crashing. I also felt the card often being associated with air travel was also pertinent. Then a few days ago, I was reading for someone whose best friend threw himself on a bomb to save his life (while…

Here's two cards that seem to share nothing other than coming from the same deck. The Hermit 9 and the 4 of pentacles. However, there are similarities. Notice how the man in the 4 of Pentacles is outside of a city. He has left with what he has to live outside of society. The Hermit has his wisdom, his consciousness, his experience that he has also left with. The 4 of Pentacles holds his life, what he loves, with each Pentacle strategically placed over his chakras. The Hermit holds onto his wisdom in his cane, he holds onto his sun, but he does shine the path for others who choose to seek. Yes, the 4 of Pentacles is possessive, but the lesson may be h…

As a newbie to tarot, I am wondering what the differnce to you is between the empress and the 10 of coins? For me, they are both about abundance. What your take on that? Thank you in advance.

I’ve been re-reading some threads about the page of pentacles in the old AT forum. I wish I could comment on some of those threads, but, alas, I cannot so I’m starting this thread in the hopes of getting a discussion going. I think other than the standard meaning of a child who is serious and studious, the page of pentacles could mean someone who has received something (perhaps an offer—of a job, opportunity, friendship, love, etc) but is taking a long time to decide whether he wants it. The RWS image shows a young man holding a pentacle and looking at it with wonder, but I get the feeling he’s also deciding if he wants to keep it or set it down. Like he’s loo…

A spirit born into flesh to enjoy life and grow in experience. Free from responsibilities and flow through life. Ah yes, the one tarot is all about. Or is it? We need to seek out that answer. Take a journey. Should we be careful, or follow the impulse. What's more haphazard, a person who thinks with their head? Or a person who thinks with their gut? Should we look up to the sky all the time dreaming of brighter places, more carefree days, constantly leaping through life, leaving the unconscious behind us? The Fool searches everywhere but in himself. Always looking up. But, I must say, it must be true freedom to live without fear because The Fool hasn't allowed society to …

Hello friends! In the past I have posted about this same exact topic. The Sun card has a personal meaning to me. It usually symbolizes my sickness schizophrenia. I had asked why such a card would have a negative meaning. I would like to share my take on the card so far. These are just notes of mine. The Sun Can often be seen as misleading or misunderstood . At a glance if may often lead you to believe there is no hardship. The sun is easily gifted among us. The sun is often the giver of life. And the queret is often the receiver of the sun’s blessings. You will be misunderstood. There is a depth to this card. Stigma and false notions …

Hello everyone! I’m a newbie so it’s still quite difficult for me to think of the cards in a broader sense or connecting it with something that’s maybe not so obvious to me. When reading about reverse King of Pentacles, it seems very negative. Is there a way to view this card reversed in a more positive way? Curious to hear your insight 🙂

Apologies if this has been posted before. Can we talk about the 2 and 3 of Wands? I have always found these cards a little bit difficult to interpret because the imagery and associated meanings are so similar. I tend to interpret the 2 primarily as a card representing making plans and the first initial steps toward a goal, but I've heard other readers associate this card with personal power, as well, but I think there are other cards that represent that idea more clearly, like the Magician, the Chariot, King of Wands, etc. I tend to interpret the 3 as expansion and growth, possibly leadership. There's just such a fine line between these two cards and I'm really curious ho…

These are the cards I believe represent change. I want to delve deeper into their differences and similarities. The Tower is the most different. It signifies some external event or revelation (often unexpected or shocking) that produces a change. The change could be mental/emotional or real. For example, you find out that your partner has been cheating on you, and you suddenly question if you’ve ever known this person. Everything changes. This is a Tower moment. The change from the Tower is externally imposed. Something happens to you, causing a change. Judgement generally refers to some kind of internal change. Often, when the card appears, you a…

I'll share something that happens a lot with me now that I've learned to hear that little elusive voice in the cards. I was looking through my new Forest of Enchantment deck awhile ago and as I came across the Seeker of Boons, suddenly it flashed into my mind "metal detecting." Okay, okay---I know some will think me nuts. But the picture shows a woman who is bending down as if to pluck something at the base of a tree. The Queens in this deck are called Seekers and Boons represent Pentacles which represent coins among other things. People who metal detect and hunt for treasure are often looking for and finding coins, along with other treasures. I enjoy w…

Hi everybody!!! So I would like to know if I could get some thoughts on the 10 of pentacles. I know the general meaning of the card like legacy, inheritance and family. But has anyone had this card show up for anything else besides that? I get really tripped up on the 10 of pentacles. What was your experiences with this card when it showed up? Also has anyone ever seen this card show up for being blocked out of something? Idky but I always get a feeling of not being welcomed with this card like a family not accepting you. Or someone not welcoming you into their world so to speak. For some reason those pentacles on the card makes me feel like I have t…

Hello everyone! I've been contemplating on the possibility of the 7 of Cups representing emotional manipulation via all the cups one is considering. Assuming that it's paired with another card, could the upright be interpreted as emotional manipulation because one has to choose between all the options that have emotional weight for that person? I've always believed that the 7s carry the energy of uncertainty and mystery. Or would reversed be a better fit for my theory? What card combos would lead to this? I'm thinking reversed court cards and the 7 of cups could be a possibility.
