Three Deck Shadow Work Spread

I pulled three cards from each deck:

  • First was the Bianco Nero Deck for Shadow Work
  • Second was the Morgan-Greer Deck for my Physical World
  • Third was the Aquarian Tarot for my Spirit

I have had a lot of trouble finding much on the subject of multi deck spreads; So does anyone know of any books? Or is this already a thread about this and I completely overlooked it? I make my own spreads most of the time, I have a book of spreads- but I think using more decks is more specific, sometimes I get multiples of the same card from multiple decks and that wouldn't be so if I had only used one deck; I also usually do big-ish spreads though, such as 9-32 cards (Sometimes I feel bold and use up to 6 decks, I have also dabbled with an oracle deck in the mix but I still don't really feel comfortable with oracle cards- not sure why).

Anyhow- any help, advice, reference material, link to other thread, etc,. would be VERY appreciated! Thanks!

@LittleMissMalachite I don't see much difference between using one or multiple decks personally. The only real difference for me is that different iterations of the same card can slant the meaning in one direction or another. For example if you normally take into account where the figure on the card is looking and pull say the Strength card for instance, then some decks may show the figure looking in one direction and others may show them looking in another. Colours can also differ for the same card from deck to deck.

Not sure if that helps any but its something to think about at least 🤔😊

I'm actually curious too about the spread you've used and what each position is...

I'm envious. I used to play around with making my own spreads and do some big ones, they are very exciting to me in theory, but I've come to the conclusion that for right now 3 cards is the way to go. I love the idea of using more than one deck but I don't know that I should.

Anyway, I'm not being helpful, just like your style! ☺️

I frequently use more than one deck, but I tend to mix it up with tarot, playing cards, and oracle cards. I usually use playing cards to get on overview of the situation, have a main tarot spread, and a few oracle cards for final thoughts. Synchronicity across the different decks can be interesting and informative. Here’s one I did recently with four decks. 1D8392D5-F950-48EB-BEB1-058BBE60536A.thumb.jpeg.65594dfd1ad8873e70c1fa64c954acde.jpeg

I like using multiple decks, usually with one tarot and one or more oracle. Latest was a couple of nights ago - Shadowscapes Tarot with the Goddess Stone Oracle.

The stones were what do I need and the cards how can I achieve it.

@Petalene @ilweran 🙂 y'all are making me want another Oracle deck. I have one, but I'm not crazy about it-I'm crazy about the art but truthfully I'm not attached to the LWB- (the art always leads me away from the given meaning). Any recommendations?

There are definitely days 3 cards is the way to go lol! The first few times I used more than one deck I felt a little overwhelmed, but after a few times, it became second nature to grab two decks, then three. And to be extra honest- I haven't touched my cards in over 2 weeks- I call these times my 'intuitive ruts'.. I'm burnt out from work and all my general responsibilities which fluctuate depending on the season/holidays (I work retail in a 'vacation' town). Thus, when I feel more motivated, and less crabby, and exhausted, and well this list could go on, I will pick out a few decks, and spend an afternoon on my favorite blanket with probably 4 decks and an endless supply of tea!

Ignore the LWB and just read the art?

Just trying to think of oracle decks I use the most... I like The Wee Star Oracle and Forest of Precious Twigs, both available on Etsy my the same artist, Froud Faeries, Celtic Shaman's Pack (Chesca Potter art not the other version), Green Wheel Oracle (from Little Red Tarot shop, or the artists Etsy shop), Dream Goddess Oracle, Wonder Walking deck by Amy T Won (Little Red Tarot again), the Zillch Tarot I trimmed to make it an oracle.
