I am really upset with the lack of manners of people in reading exchanges. I am actually leaving this site but not because of Little Fang who is awesome but because of if there is no one to exchange with, or rather because I feel deflated after 2 of 3 readings I have done. I know I am in the wrong place if I feel defalted after giving readings waiting for feedback that never comes. I am sorry to Pami619 but the two "Ladys" -- LadyKathryn and Ladyinred have sullied this place for me and blew my desire to do any readings here. I am totally out of here. This is a place for theoretical studies of the cards not for practicing readings by exchanging unless you put professional in front of your name. I have no interest in studying the cards in that manner. So I wish you all the best of luck and I hope the people I called out for lack of manners develop some.

From my experience in AT it is always a good idea to privately contact the moderator or the admin to sort out this type of problems. They can almost always help.

Storming out, on the other hand, will usually not help anyone and it won't help make things any better.. Just my 2c..

I am very sorry to hear about your experience here. As mentioned by Hemera, it is always a good idea to contact the admin or the moderator, then we will take things from there.

 

After AT was shut, many of us have scattered around the internet. As you mentioned, the exchange section is rather quiet compared to AT.  I understand this is the case on all 4 new forums created after the closure of AT. I offered a diviniton reading in another section on this forum, end up I waited for 24 hours until someone sat in the thread and 6 more days for another sitter. But we are gaining momentum and I am sure in the near future we will have more active users exchanging in the tarot section.  :D

 

I cannot read the actual readings in your exchange thread, therefore, I can't deal the matter at the moment. But if you please PM me with your conversations with LadyKathryn and Ladyinred, I am more than happy to ask them to return their readings plus feedback and issue a warning to each of them, if this is necessary.

 

I do understand your feeling, wray. When I was a member on AT, during the very first year, I offered no less than 500 readings and people do find them helpful and the feedback was great. One day, I really needed help, instead of offering free readings, I offered exchanges. I waited for 12 hours but no one wanted to do an exchange with me, although I saw many of my "regulars" sat in other threads. I felt really really upset and well deflated as well. At that point, I know all people wanted were freebies, free readings without returning their time and energy. Since then, I am no longer offering readings until today really.

 

There are many other members in this forum are full of good manners. Again, I am sorry for your experience. If you don't mind, we can set up our own unique exchange thread which we can exchange together from time-to-time.  :D

AT had probably 11-12 thousand members visiting the site on a regular basis.

 

We are just little, but we try harder :)

Anyway, whoever is reading this, if you think we are too small to have that kind of reading  forum, please come and post on the other threads,  the busier we are the more people

will drop in, and then stay.

Ever since AT is gone, the community seems to be shattered all over the web, and it feels like a can of worms has opened up.

I'm a student, I want to learn and I want to get better. I very rarely have a question, so I prefer reading for feedback. Recently, I see that members on reading forums no longer read cards because they don't want to read for free. You Em had a bad experience, and I'm very sorry to learn about it. That must have been a terrible moment. :(

Yeah, I agree with you. The shutdown of AT has changed the community. Honestly, all new forums have slowed down significantly. One of the new forums only got 10 new posts per day. All reading exchanges everywhere are slow. But unhelpful members or people who have bad manner don't help.  :(

There has definitely been a slow-down here. I know I'm not posting quite as much because of a couple of things IRL here. But, I believe we have as many, if not more members than the other brand-new forums. I just looked, about 240 on one, 170 on another. Tarotsphere has 320 or so, so just a bit over what we have.

 

And, from what I can tell, we've definitely got more action. ;D But, yeah, things have slowed down a bit. I'm sure it'll pick up again as folks settle in to their Autumn routines.

 

Although we lost wray to a single bad experience, I still feel we're doing pretty good. As the community grows, it will happen from time to time ... hopefully in the future we'll have a chance to verify it and take care of it before it grows to a large problem.

This is absolutely true about the schools/colleges! Part of the reason my RL has been so busy is because my semester (as a college professor) is starting up again. I will not be posting quite as much, but I am still here and reading. :) And I am sure that things will pick up again; this is such a lovely and peaceful place.
