Hello all -

I am starting to dip my toes back into tarot after a number of years away. I was a prolific member of Aeclectic around the turn of the millennium. To say that experience was life-changing would be an understatement.

I met my wife Laura (Gardener) through those boards, and together we had a child who has just turned 15. Also, I became a professional reader for awhile in a local shop and it spurred me onto a career change from sales to becoming a licensed psychotherapist, which I have been doing in private practice over the past decade.

My experience on those boards led to multiple friendships which I still cherish. Now that I’m 20 years wiser, I’m hoping to reenergize my love for tarot and hopefully meet develop new friendships among my fellow travelers.

welcome home Dan, we love prolific here! 🙂 As you know from experience a forum with lurkers rather than posters is just a static landing page, nothing to see, move along. Drop in often!

gregory, my DARLING, it's so good to be back!!  Let us commence ISG post-haste!!

Yes, I'm very excited to discover Tea and Tarot, you seem like a wonderful community and I can't wait to get to know you all, see some old friends, and talk tarot.

So my best story of my whole life is one well suited for this forum - it's the story of how the old boards birthed a baby.  Contrascarpe and I met on the AT forum, I did a tarot reading for him in which he got the Empress in the "outcome" position and the rest is history.  Our baby is a radical teen now, tarot help us all.

Meanwhile, after years away from tarot, I finally got desperate for some cartomancy wisdom and started reading for my friends at the office.  Somehow my boss found out about our little club and... no it's worse than you think - he JOINED us!   He immediately memorized all the card meanings and totally took over the group, in typical boss fashion.  I ran away.

I've been doing tarot all by my lonesome for the past few weeks, wondering where I could find some nice friendly tarot-obsessed people to play with.  When contrascarpe found this forum, I knew the High Priestess was looking out for me.

So happy to be here...

THAT certainly has the ring of truth. I'd have run away, too. My bosses would have "pushed" the readings: "And here's the Tower. That means we're going to have an EXPLOSIVELY GOOD quarter and profits are going up, up, up! So be sure to buy stock in the company, you're crazy if you don't!" All the while the papers are saying something entirely different, lol.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you AJ-ish/Sharyn, Gregory, Katrinka and Marirowana for the warm welcome.  I'm very happy to be here.  There is something about realizing that all your friends are your co-workers that makes you sit up and say, this needs to change!  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here on the boards.

I've started a couple posts - wondering if anyone would like to join in a new 78 week study group, and if anyone new to Tarot would like to study the Thoth with me.  If other people have ideas, I'm open to them.  I will be joining the reading circles next.  Whee!!
