DrDunbar Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) Hi friends. Does anyone know where I can still buy a deck of The Silhouettes Tarot by Masa Kuzuki? I ran across it recently online and it looks amazing and I want a deck but the artist has stopped printing it (frustrating!). I imagine someone here must have this deck: is it as cool in person as it looks digitally? Thanks! 😄 DrDunbar Edited September 2, 2020 by DrDunbar Added picture
Decan Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) I'm pretty sure @Nemia owns this deck (or owned it in the past if she sold it, it's something I'm not aware though). Edited September 2, 2020 by Decan
gregory Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I own both this and the two other versions. YES - way cool ! And indeed, afaik you're looking at ebay, though it is said there is a 3rd edition on the way. BUT - you can buy a "defective" one for $50. I bought one once, I couldn't see a thing wrong with it. http://www.signorrino.com Scroll way down.
Niobium Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Sadly this one often goes on eBay for $200-300. x.x But like gregory I purchased a 'defective' and to be totally honest, it's hardly defective in any way. If you look carefully, you can see what the artist means (the coating on the stock isn't perfect, etc.) but for a deck that's otherwise insanely expensive to obtain I'd say they're more than acceptable. Masa ships quickly and I had the deck in short order.
DrDunbar Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) Thanks @gregory and @Niobium. I think I would like to have the second edition, as I'm not a fan of bordered cards and the only one I can buy is that first edition with borders. Is it true there might be a 3rd edition coming out? Also, what are the differences between the 1st and 2nd addition? Any major changes in the card designs? It looks like there are a couple. What is your take on them? Is the print quality comparable? Which edition would you keep if you could only keep one? Thanks! 😄 Edited September 8, 2020 by DrDunbar
gregory Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I'd keep the second - primarily because I prefer the changed death card. The print quality of both (and the reversed one) are all fine. I will check for changed cards another day. But - buy one of the defectives You won't regret it - and if by chance you did - you will have no trouble selling it on.
Nemia Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 I wouldn't part with this deck! It's one of my most beloved decks.
