Wyrdkiss Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Greetings eveyrone, What are your thoughts on this one? With a bit of scrolling you'll see the suites are changed into 7 different types. Im very tempted because I've been fascinated with his artwork since discvoering it in childhood, but I am uncertain of the utility of the pack.
katrinka Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I looooooove Bosch. But it's a no from me. "How will my workweek go?" (images of hell) OK, that's probably accurate. But: "Will my yeasted waffles turn out perfectly?" (images of hell) EXCUSE ME BUT I'M A DAMN GOOD COOK. I just don't do Bosch Tarots. I can gaze at his stuff endlessly, but as a Tarot - no. YMMV.
Decan Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) Interesting, but it seems more an Oracle. With 7 suits and for each one a Page, a Prince, a Queen and a King, there will be a lot of figures in this deck! For the Majors there are choices the artist made and that I understand, other that surprise me a bit. The back of cards is gorgeous! (I know we don't read with the back 😄 ) But this project involves a lot of work regarding restoration so that's nice the deck was funded! Otherwise even if I was interested I recognize that I haven't the patience to wait for about 5 or 6 months (I did it for a few projects on Kickstater but well, it's a bit long for me). gregory Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Nice restoration - but I object to his saying no-one has ever dared to create a deck using Bosch's original work (assuming he doesn't mean he actually went and worked with the actual paintings in museums.) I like the look of it actually. I read with my LoS Bosch - not all original work, but there's a lot in there - it FEELS Boschy.
Contrascarpe Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I kickstarted this one as I’ve been fascinated with Bosch since my college days. @Decan The deck is scheduled for November. I know many KS projects slip, but this creator has a good track record.

ETA: I think the Kickstarter when I've waited the most was for the Pagan Otherworld Tarot several years ago; I checked that, and indeed, their campaign was during October 2015 but in August 2016 we still waited the deck (delay, delay); I think I received it during autumn 2016, so 1 year after the campaign (my first Kickstater 😄 the others were quicker but I wouldn't repeat this one though!), but it's another story of course! Niobium Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) I'll be honest that I really don't like the art choices here. There was a playing card deck that was up recently which was amazing, IMO, except of course, it was a playing card deck. I've been meaning to message the creator with one of my HAVE YOU CONSIDERED A TAROT DECK?? messages. >.> Found it: Edited September 24, 2020 by Niobium
Wyrdkiss Posted October 10, 2020 Author Posted October 10, 2020 Thanks for the replies everyone. I opted to pass, but it is on my radar. I agree with some of the posts above -- work is hellish enough without pinpointing at 7:30 AM the particular plane of hell it will reside in! Seriously though, this would just be a fun flip-through collectible conversation starter if ever acquired.
