I have a question about daily cards in general and how you all treat them. I do them for myself, sometimes once a day, sometimes I pull for the week. How do you view them or utilize them? Would you see them more as a snapshot of what the day will hold for you, or more like a meditation to learn more about the specific card? I've started mostly using jumpers for the daily draws, and in cases where more than one card comes out, I tend to take that as more of a message I'm meant to receive rather than just something to reflect on. What are your thoughts?

I am not a fan of 1 card draws for the day- because as each card can be viewed in a gazillion of ways- I find it hard to focus its meaning.. If you do like the idea- perhaps focus it on a specific field at least- so that you will have some context to the reading making it more specific.

OR if you want to keep it general- try finding not one but all the things that happened to you that might reflect different sides of the chosen card- which will allow you to create a fuller, rounder interpretation of each card

I've done a card of the day since 2007 I think, first thing in the morning. I view them as advice on how to be a better person, what needs to be coughed up like a hairball...   I think this exercise fails for many because they are trying for predictive readings and they get discouraged.

Both very good points! And thank you for the welcome @AJ-ish/Sharyn 🙂

@Aldor44 that has been part of the issue...drawing just one cards leaves so much up to interpretation without any additional info. I like it when 2 or 3 cards pop out. It gives a fuller meaning. I almost feel like it would be better for reflection to do at the end of the day. The beginning of the day, as AJ said, lends to more predictive tendencies. Last week, one of my daily cards was the 10 of cups. I'm in sort of a complicated relationship right now, and all that served to do is leave me looking around every corner for some good, happy news in that regard. My own interpretation and biases actually negated the positives that card could have shown me. After reflection of the day, I saw all the beauty that was in that day with my daughter, especially, but not in the moment. So, I think, while the cards can give us a glimpse, applying that concretely is tricky.

I lean more towards the "coughing up a hairball" school of thought, or just things to be mindful of.

I do daily draws, but I tend to do it with a deck that has a guidebook which provides me with a message or thought to think about each morning.

My favourite decks for daily draws are The Good Tarot, Spiritsong Tarot, Wild Unknown Tarot, Wild Unknown Animal Spirit.  Daily draws are one of the few times I nearly always use the deck's guidebook.

Then why not just draw 3 cards? When did it become a rule that dailies have to be single cards?
One card draws remind me of that old game show: "I can name that tune in ONE NOTE!" (That virtually always failed.)

That's why I started using the jumpers...let them come out as they will, you know? If I get one, I go with it. If I get 3, I go with that too.

I do single daily cards from time to time (if I'm not doing my 2 card daily spread, or a longer one).

I don't use it as a prediction, or advice.

I just ask: "Who wants to keep me company today?"

I’m drawing a daily card but lately I have felt a bit... bleh about it. I am considering of drawing three cards in the future – maybe Thinking/Feeling/Doing. Just to get a bit more out of it.
