I agree with @AJ-ish/Sharyn!  Happy Blue Moon, everyone!

Very happy to see the Brady Tarot being used, Bodhiseed... it is a deck I really, really want (but do not need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

I'm with the Dame Darcy Mermaid Tarot this week!  (3rd edition, I believe) 🙂

Thank you for the new thread @VGimlet.

And happy Sabbat / Blue Moon to all who celebrate, this one's my favorite because I love the fall and also because I was born on this day. ;-))

My deck for the week is the Deviant Moon Tarot, let's see how I get on with it. Always seemed a bit creepy to me.

The Brady is a stunning, stunning deck, both editions are great imo. I love the colors and how she realized the cards, and am just so deeply impressed with Emi Brady.

Thank you for the thread, VG! 🎃👻🦇

I'm in with The Resurrected Kirchner Besancon Tarot c. 1850 (Patrick Valenza).

Patrick Valenza (Deviant Moon, Inc.) created this Tarot from scans of his own authentic Kirchner Besancon deck. He left the images as found, which really endears them (and him) to me.

Hands down, this is my favorite TdM-type Tarot deck. The colors are popping just like I like, and the images are proving slightly surreal in places -- like the Valet de Deniers standing in ankle-deep water. There's so much to make of that! Of course, I'm sure it's just a happy accident due to the nature of hand-coloring. But I also love to think it's probably the only Valet de Deniers ever depicted standing in water and will come in quite useful in some reading sometime.

I'm continuing with my study of "Tarot on Earth" by Tom Benjamin. Last week, I finished the first lesson on the meanings of the numbers in the pips. It involved researching seven different sources for a list of number keywords/phrases from each and charting them all on a spreadsheet. From that, I distilled my own list of numerological meanings. As directed by the author, I took my time with the lesson, and I haven't skipped ahead (or even peeked).

This week I'll be using the Brady Tarot, created and self-published by Emi Brady with a companion booklet by Rachel Pollack. The oracle I'll be drawing from is the I Ching, illustrated by Klaus Holitzka with instructions by Marlies Holitzka; it is published by AGM Urania. Today's draws are Judgment and Hexagram 7:

judgment.jpghexagram%2Bseven_0002.jpg
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. —Terry Pratchett

A golden eagle holding a viper wakes a colony of brown bats and sends them streaming into the daylight. Judgment is a card of summoning, yet not in the sense of dividing the sheep from the goats, but in awakening us from our personal viewpoints and from the many opinions with which we are constantly bombarded. Once we see the stark nakedness of reality, we are called to act from a new and wiser understanding. Hexagram Seven is given the title 'Collective Force;' while it may refer to a group, in this case it likely involves the many parts of a person working as a coordinated whole. Living from reality instead of an opinion requires the integrity of one's physical, mental and emotional being. It can be tempting to avoid acting if we're afraid we might upset someone. In such a case, it might be best to take the words of Philip K. Dick to heart: "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

This week: Resurrected Kirchner Besancon Tarot c. 1850 (Patrick Valenza)

Today's cards:

6 of Cups ~ The Star ~ The Lover

Choice is emphasized in this spread -- I see paths in all three cards. The consequence of choosing is on my mind today.

What a beautiful deck, Madame!! A noteworthy spread indeed, really packs a punch visually all laid out. Thank you for sharing.

I really love the warm artwork of the Dame Darcy Mermaid Tarot, but I am having trouble connecting more deeply with it. Does anyone else here have experience working with this one?

@vulprix Dame Darcy Mermaid is one that hasn't made it to my collection yet.

It is very beautiful and I love the nautical theme 🙂 Can recommend. I am glad there is a cheaper option now than the version of the deck i have... I just wish I felt more deeply connected to it! Maybe that will come with time.
