vague-whisperings Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 One of the bloggers I follow, someone who also helped publish the Normal Tarot, is working on creating a deck that's entirely made up of existing cards from other tarot decks. I was wondering if you guys knew of any public domain decks :0 Heres the general tag for info on the project if ur interested, and some more specific posts about it ( X and X)
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 (edited) it looks like the ones she is using still copyrighted are with the artist/publisher permission for paying a 100 dollar rights permission. so what I said below is probably immaterial. But I sure as hell wouldn't back a deck like that, it is Way more fun to make up your own. That said it is a fun project to make up such a deck for your own use, my own, put together with the help of a few members here is the Rogue Deck, and a collaborative project from the defunct AT forum was the Frankendecken, and Bride of Frankendecken. I use the Rogue or Frankendecken when traveling for months so I don't have to take a box of decks; Oh, and I have a third, #27 I think, of the Patchwork Deck, made up of 78 cards from actual decks, also fun. And I think PathWalker still has a few. Edited November 11, 2020 by AJ-ish/Sharyn

Ik that in some of the updates they've posted, they got a couple cards donated to the project from what seems like big name decks? I'm not 100% sure on it tbh; it's a fun deck concept but it's not really my kinda thing tbh. I like ✨✨Aesthetic✨✨ in mine + the Alleymans tarot seems too eclectic for my taste u_u 2 hours ago, AJ-ish/Sharyn said: the Rogue Deck, and a collaborative project from the defunct AT forum was the Frankendecken, and Bride of Frankendecken This sounds rly cool tho :0 how's it work? is it like a traditional rws set with one card from a different deck or is it like an oracle deck?
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 totally tarot. 78 tarot card images from 78 different tarot decks. And since I printed them out for my own use they are all the same size. I could have printed them bigger, but I did them 9 to a sheet, so they fit in an Altoid Mints tin. Lovely 😉 Pathwalkers Patchwork deck, you get 78 different actual tarot cards from 78 different decks, so they are all different sizes. It is a good way to experience the difference in cardstocks from many different publishers, and get creative with shuffling. When used in a spread, it can also be a unique way to read, much like how they face, and elements. How does the size of the card drawn come into the reading? But I digress from your original post, I now return you to your original programing. I wonder if anyone remembers those TV announcements, pre-satellite and cable.

Lovely Oh, that sounds really cool actually. Have you thought about blending oracle and tarot decks? The Patchwork deck seems really fun too; how big are the cards, on average? Also is it available? I'm kinda 👀 at that
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) The biggest card was 7" tall, I trimmed off the borders so I could get the deck into a box 🙂 the smallest is from the Nova at 3" which is standard height for most mini-decks. The Hanged Man came from a RWS that is sold as a teaching tool for classes. Not interested in blending oracles, I love the ones I have too much for breaking them up. The Patchwork decks were formed by people mailing what we call broken decks (decks with cards missing or ruined) to Pathwalker, and she then reassembled the multitude into complete but missized decks. I still believe in their house their rules, but when you get out on your own drop me a line and I'll mail you a deck. In the meantime you might be better served using your adventure deck as an oracle, and just set aside trying to fit things into a tarot suit for later. The images are an integral part of the journey. Otherwise you have 78 slips of paper with a keyword, not the same at all. Although I've done it but with an already base of real card work. I spent a week at a hospital watching over my FIL and marked sugar packets with card numbers and amused myself at length. Couldn't have done that without an understanding of tarot though. edited to add photo Edited November 13, 2020 by AJ-ish/Sharyn
gregory Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 PW's Patchwork decks use actual cards - so they are absolutely NOT the same size. . I don't know if she has any for sale right now, but they are great fun. I also have a Frankendeck from AT, and I scanned that and printed all the cards the same size, like AJ did. The biggest card in my Frankendeck is from the Inner Child - it's MASSIVE
PathWalker Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Just to speak out here - thank you to the mentions of the patchwork decks by its fans And yes I do have at least two decks assembled ready for sale. Details in this thread Best wishes to all PathWalker
