To my knowledge, from perusing this forum and others, it's an agreed upon thing, that there is no explanation as to how the right cards show up in the right place at the right time.

Here's an idea I had about this:

Imagine, for the sake of argument and this theory, that on the etheric/energy plane, we carry with us in our being, an energetic packet of information, that "law-of-attraction-like" magnetically pulls to us experiences that we need in order to grow spiritually. This packet automatically brings us experiences that our Higher Self/God/The Universe knows will benefit us and push us to mature as a spiritual being. Then imagine a piece of technology that could detect and translate this energy within a human into a language we can comprehend, and give a "reading" of this energy on a monitor. Then imagine someone having had "specialized training" to read the results on that monitor to accurately describe what the "subject" would need to do in order to "grow spiritually". Then imagine this technology as being the Tarot.

In this theory, the point is that WHAT cards get pulled in WHAT position DOESN'T MATTER. ALL cards in ALL positions would give an accurate reading because no matter what cards would turn up, the Tarot is tapping into the same "energy packet" within the querent and thus bringing out essentially the same information it would with any other cards, just in a different expression. So if this card shows up here it would correlate to this aspect of the querents "path" but if on the other hand this card shows up there it would correlate to another part of the querents "path". The querents "optimal path towards higher and higher understanding of the self" (chosen by his/her Higher Self through this "energy packet" in their own makeup) however, being this ONE THING, THE ESSENCE of the reading will always be the same (i.e. what the querent needs to hear right now) regardless of what specific cards turn up. The tarot reader will interpret the symbolic language of the reading in the "right" way each time, because the cards are the "right" ones each and every time, regardless of which cards show up where.
