Anabiyeni Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 I've been reading Tarots cards for maybe 20 years. My go-to for most of my early years was Osho Zen Tarot, which I found refreshingly intuitive. More recently, my usual preferred decks have been the Pagan Cats, Cat's eye, 78 Doors, and African American Tarot. I collect Tarot decks largely for the artwork, but have tried reading most of my decks at least once. I had never connected with the imagery in the Waite deck, but in learning more about Tarot history, I picked up the Universal Waite deck and promptly set it aside for months. After quarantine started (I'm a public health worker in New York - I've been stuck at home since last March), I experimented with writing stories about Tarot readers and prepared a series of Tarot-related speeches for my Toastmasters club. In an effort to make my work more accessible, I forced myself to learn the Waite deck. It's growing on me very slowly, but I still prefer intuitive reading to using a book of meanings. The experience of trying to read this deck has helped me to become better at reading nearly any deck, though. I have very little time right now to devote to Tarot (the study groups sound daunting and my dissertation chair would kill me if I join anything new), but in what little time I do have I'd like to learn more about how others read Tarot cards and unconventional ways people include Tarot cards in their lives (for me, it's just fiction writing at the moment). I'm also always interested in learning about new and different Tarot decks. I'd be interested in casual Zoom meetings if that's a thing.

Just browsing through the various discussions here will help you learn plenty - particularly if you ask questions too! We don't currently have any zoom chats, but anyone is welcome to organise one if they wish to.
