Momoca Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Hi all, I am quite new in tarot and would like to know how do you do when doubts cross your mind, like « your intuition is not good » or « you can’t do this ». Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
katrinka Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 You just keep reading. A lot. Read on current events, how a movie will end, anything and everything. Note down the cards you drew and your interpretation so you can go back and see how many hits you got. Don't worry about intuitive flashes, you still have card meanings to go by. The intuition comes with knowing the cards well. And give yourself time. Like anything else, the 10,000 hour rule applies. If your readings are working, no problem. If they're not, see where they went wrong and adjust your technique accordingly.
stephanelli Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Hi @Momoca I've moved this into the right section! (Business of Tarot is for more business related questions whereas this is more general).

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻 The more readings you do, the easier it will become. Learn the basic meanings of the cards, then it doesn't matter if your intuition takes a day off because you know what each card means. You have a solid base to work from. As to doubts, that's a confidence thing usually, I think we each have to work through it in our own way. For me personally, I have to make sure I start each reading in a calm, centred way - a couple of deep breaths usually works, if I'm especially agitated I'll do some yoga first. It helps me to let those negative go so I can focus on what the cards are trying to tell me.

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻 You need to read, read and read. You’re building a foundation and strong foundations require work. Put the pips aside and start with the 21 trumps and the Fool card. Go through each one, become familiar with each card’s design and associate it with the cards’ most elementary significations . Do real readings: the month ahead, question readings, readings friends and family. Track your accuracy. If you were wrong, review the reading and see where you went awry. Focus on just two or three spreads, too. No one cards. The line of three, tirage en croix and the astrological wheel are good starting spreads. If you have a problem use the cards. Do exchanges on the forum. Also try and focus on one source. Go for the book written by the creator, too. Too many books will create confusion. When you’re familiar with the trumps you can start on the pips. Intuition is the fruit of knowledge . The stronger your foundation, the more your intuition will shine through. And when it does, you will have no doubt about it. You will see clear. But that takes time. Edited February 16, 2021 by Guest

Would you have time to elaborate on it maybe some time? That would be fab. I can’t find too much info in English about it, but it looks quite interesting. It’s an old spread, isn’t it?

WildWoman71 Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I started out with two rituals - I would do a Daily Draw - first see what it meant to me without the book - then read the book meaning - and then if there were any symbols on the card I would research the animals the symbols - everything - if the book referenced a place historical or fictional I would read about it Then - every morning I would do a 3 card reading for myself - 1 Represents the morning - 2 represent the afternoon 3 - represent the evening - I would do the same as above - and then reflect on the reading and the day the next morning.
