I say I'm an occultist because it fascinates me, but what I really am is a truth seeker. You could say I'm an alchemist, but I should clarify what I would define as alchemy. What I define as alchemy is enlightenment, and enlightenment comes from the will to receive, which is why my favorite character of all time (Neo) represents Will in the Matrix series. Without it, one can never realize the truth, which is that the truth lives within each and every one of us, but our ego is what blinds us to it. That's what I define as alchemy, and I live my life in unity with it. I am God, but I am also Satan, and it's up to me who and what I allow to rule over my mind, body and spirit (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). You may think this sounds very Christian, but it's actually more Gnostic which is exactly what I am. I'm here because I want to meet other like-minded people that I can relate with, as there aren't many Tarot readers or spellcasters where I'm from. I do have Asperger's syndrome so it's difficult for me to relate well to neurotypicals, but I'm sure that won't be a problem with any of you. As a hobby, I do cybersecurity which is one of my obsessions, as well as BitTorrent and Usenet. If any of you want to know anything about cybersecurity, BitTorrent or Usenet, that's certainly something which can help us to relate to each other, as well as Tarot and spellcasting. I also love mythology, and I'm actually a goth, so the goth subculture is something I'm very much apart of as well. If any of you are goth, emo, scene, vampire, or werewolf, I'd love to get to know you. Anything out of the ordinary is of interest to me, so if you feel very much the same way , we'll relate quite well. Anyway, that's all I will share. You actually sound pretty relatable - no reader fits the mold, and while I don't claim awesome psychic powers or any of that, studying card reading for decade after decade isn't something "regular" people do. But my whole family has a bit of funny wiring, and from what other members tell me, that's the norm here. Funny wiring is a good thing - it's probably why you're focused enough to do cybersecurity. But I have to ask you about your choice of profile pic. We have a No Politics rule here, so I won't go into a lot of detail - but I do find it raises some red flags, given events of recent years. Why the gadsden flag?

I think as a Tarot reader you're only telling the subject what they already know about themselves and are willing to face. It's like when Luke Skywalker had to face the Sith within himself in Star Wars. You're probably right, cybersecurity does require very in-depth critical thinking and passion. About my profile picture, I believe very strongly in free will and God's law which the Gadsden flag does represent to some extent, although not completely as there's a lot more to it. It has nothing to do with anything political, and I don't think anything political is very enlightening. If you want to discuss that further, you can message me privately. But it's something that does require vigilance, it should be protected. The Swastika was originally a symbol of peace, but I wouldn't display that either. I have blocked your avatar, and don't have to see it any more - and am happy to tell anyone else who wants to know how to ! Free will is fine only "an ye harm none". The gadsen flag is used as a symbol for harm. Politics are not discussed on this forum, so I shall not say more. Welcome, otherwise.

The ban of political discussions is entirely in line with that. Certain historical symbols have through their contemporary usage been tainted to the point where they will bring up unpleasant connotations, and sometimes they can even be downright triggering and cause suffering to many individuals. That is not something we want to have happen here on this forum. Clearly that has already happened in regards to this particular avatar and I think it would be a nice gesture to replace it.

The Gadsden flag isn't a symbol of harm, so I don't know what harm you're referencing. It sounds like you're making a subjective judgment which has nothing to do with it's objective meaning.

I don't think I was being unfriendly at all, in fact I was treated very poorly by the user who commented via private messaging. What I think is happening here is that you're making something political that's not political, based on political events surrounding it, so how is this not a political judgment that you're making? I really don't understand how you can judge it by way of politics but say there's a rule against politics here, are you not breaking your own rule?

This is a public forum, and I was responding to your comment. I was not looking to convert you to anything, least of all Nazism as I am not a Nazi and that's a judgement that you're making. But someone else reading this may benefit. Well I've had conversations with actual Nazis and they are not fans of Trump at all for many reasons. I don't know what concentration camps you're referencing, but there's a lot of political violence coming from both sides. I don't agree with everything Trump has said or done, and neither do many Trump supporters. I don't have any affiliation with alt-righters, and I certainly don't have any affiliation with Nazis as they are rather bitter and think of themselves as superior because of their intelligence which I disagree with wholeheartedly. Of course there are differences between sexes and races, but that doesn't mean one is superior to the other. You may think you're advocating self-defense, but you're still generalizing a whole group of people who you've never met. There are many good people on both sides of the political spectrum.
