midrena Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 (edited) I'm so delighted to be here! It's so nice to know I have a group of people to talk to about tarot. Though ... let's face it, I suppose I'm here to gush about cards or look at what other people are getting, so I can drool over the artwork! 🙂 I'm always fascinated by how different artists interpret each card and the symbolism differently. I've been drawn to tarot for years but it's only been the last couple of years that I finally decided to jump in and get some. I have 7 decks in total despite wanting SO MANY (haha) -- but I really try to only buy decks that I can't seem to stop thinking about. My top 3 tarot decks are the Shadowscapes Tarot, Everyday Witch Tarot and Oak, Ash & Thorn -- my first indie deck, which I think might have had the inadvertent side-effect of me wanting more indie decks (*cough* I must resist!). As for non-tarot decks, I picked up a lenormand because I was curious (I got the Celtic Lenormand) and found it pretty cool. I saw a couple of sibilla decks on Youtube and was intrigued by the images, but I haven't yet picked one up. Anyway, cheers and see you all around the forum! I've stopped adding to my deck wishlist on here because it's already way too long lol I don't even want to look at it because then I'll want to go spend money 🙄😂

I added 3 new decks to my wishlist, and this was just in my first day on the forum. (Oh no 😛) I tell myself not to look but I can't help but check out all the pretty artwork. One of the reasons I love tarot decks is that they're not only a healing/introspective tool for me, they also are like mini art galleries that hold 78 lovely pieces of art from a particular artist. Sometimes I like to redraw a card (well, one of the more simple designs that I can attempt, so I mean like Happy Tarot and not something like Shadowscapes, heh), just to meditate on its meaning and also as a form of art therapy.
