I'm new to this and can't wait to dip my toe in the water and hopefully dive in later once I have the confidence that I won't drown in self doubt. Three years ago I went to the local Ren Fest and my friend got me to sit for a reading. I was at a huge crossroads in my life and poured the options out to the person doing the reading. She was wonderful and the reading was intuitive, subtle and ultimately spot on. I have a horrible memory in these situations and she allowed me to record the session. Looking back (or listening back) many times, I was both grateful and amazed by this experience and having the recording, it wasn't tarnished by time and memory. My life has completely changed since that time, new career, new location, etc.. Around a year after this experience I bought my own set of cards and tried doing this for myself. I bought a Rider Waite set with the little book and did a few spreads for myself and again they seemed to be spot on. We frequently shop in thrift stores and I always gravitate to the book section and have picked up a few on Tarot and this has expanded my knowledge a little and I have looked things up on line from time to time. I'm new and don't know what I'm doing but just draw a card for myself and I am still amazed by how spot on the explanations are in the books, etc. for whatever I am considering. I would love to learn more about this and that's why I'm here. I'm sure a lot of people I know would not or do not believe in this but I know I do!

Oh very nice story..

I am sure i am n9t the only one where a tarot reading became more then fun but seems like it was predestined for the client.

One little phrase and the client has to share their emotions. So instesd of trying to move in with the reading. One gets in the mode sort to speak and let them unleash.

I am intetested in what  books you opicked up.

Also if you look up waite decks, waite clones. Or even do a search by theme like children yarot.

There been many many many tarot cards out there. Ufo, hunted house, to upcoming labyrinth tarot !!

You have enter a bigger world of possibilities.   Enjoy, savour

welcome to the forum @shiama 🙂

Thrift stores are always a great place to search for tarot stuff, you can sometimes find rarer decks and classic books in them! So always worth searching going past one 🙂 Good luck on your tarot journey here, there a lot of things around to help you increase your confidence

That is so true. We do most of our shopping at thrift stores and I always gravitate to the books section and have found this to be a gold mine. I have four books now. I've only recently started looking for decks and been unlucky so far.
