MoonGypsy Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 Ohhh my! Another beautiful discovery and I can pre-order on Amazon! I have no modern decks and this one is really interesting. Someone mentioned another modern deck and I just can't remember the name. It was also one of these decks with every day images. Email me, my friend, and maybe i can help you figure out the one you can't remember the name of... ;)

Someone mentioned another modern deck and I just can't remember the name. It was also one of these decks with every day images. Email me, my friend, and maybe i can help you figure out the one you can't remember the name of... ;) That's the problem. I don't have any of the images, either. It's one of these self-published decks, too, I think.
MoonGypsy Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 i emailed you yesterday, Shivani, with a possibility...
MoonGypsy Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 i am soooooooooooooooo excited! ;D i just got a notification and tracking number from Amazon! My Everyday Enchantment has been shipped and will arrive tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WooHoo!!! After all these years of watching Poppy create it, i can hardly believe i will finally have it in my eager hands tomorrow!!!!
Saturn Celeste Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 I just ordered it through Amazon. It is expected to arrive on March 28. I've seen this deck and could not get past some of the weird mouths on the faces BUT after really examining the cards on this page: http://www.poppypalin.org/tarot.htm I caved. >:D
Whisper Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 I've seen this deck and could not get past some of the weird mouths on the faces That's exactly what I can't get over with this deck. :(
Saturn Celeste Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 I've seen this deck and could not get past some of the weird mouths on the faces That's exactly what I can't get over with this deck. :( I just cancelled the deck. I was watching a YouTube and the cards have huge borders. Sure they can be trimmed but I don't trim my cards. The borders really spoiled it. I don't insist my decks are borderless but I do object to huge borders, especially when they make the cards larger for no reason, I'd rather have the size of the card filled with the image, not blank space.
MoonGypsy Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 i just watched the vid, and i AM very happy to hear that the cardstock is matte rather than Uber glossy, like so many of Schiffer decks tend to be. And the borders don't bother me as much as i feared. Of course, i would rather they were thinner or ideally the deck was borderless...but... i have been waiting for this deck for YEARS and i am thrilled i will have it in my hands sometime tomorrow. ETA: i now have the deck in hand, and the cards are big and glorious--gorgeous matte cardstock, and as it turns out--i LOVE how the color themed borders were done in this deck. The images are LARGE and i find that the borders actually enhance the art rather than take away from it. i am so pleased with this set i can't even begin to praise it enough! <3 <3 <3
Saturn Celeste Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Oh C_ _ P!!! i am sooooo disappointed to hear that there are huge borders! i am still reeling from my disappointment regarding the HUGE borders on the Star Tarot. Why does Schiffer keep doing that??? i may or may not trim them, i will have to decide when i have them in hand tomorrow. Well, i am still excited, but a little wind has gone out of my enthusiasm...sigh... Poppy's brilliant art deserves to be seen with out being overpowered by distracting huge borders! At least they are just solid colors, they're in that link I posted. They should be very easy to trim, might want to keep the bottom lettering though. Let us know what you decided to do and what you think about the deck once you have them in hand! Please!
Saturn Celeste Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 don't mind the borders as much as i feared... Good to know! I thought about it too before I cancelled. I'm interested in the cards but price is a little high for me at the moment. I just came off a crushing defeat on ebay over Tarot of the Spirit World and I thought maybe the Everyday Enchantment might be similar. I'll keep my eye on the deck and see if it comes down in price (if it stays available long enough.) http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/spirit-world/
MoonGypsy Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 i remember Tarot of the Spirit World; i didn't know it was OOP... Everyday Enchantment is nothing like it in any way. Have you ever checked out the Ghost Tarot? It is also a Lo Scarabeo deck. i have it, and quite like it. [better than the Spirit World one, actually]. And it is in print and very reasonably priced, too. http://www.bohemianess.com/2017/03/tarot-deck-review-ghost-tarot.html i edged mine in black and it looks gorgeous!
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 I'm very curious about this deck. I hope you can post some pics, MoonGypsy. :)

MoonGypsy Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I'm very curious about this deck. I hope you can post some pics, MoonGypsy. :) Hi EK! My deck is going to arrive sometime today. :) However, i am a little under the weather. Also, i am still struggling with posting images. i got so used to doing it on AT... Is there a way to upload pics from my personal folders? i am a techie dinosaur at times, admittedly. :P ETA: i am fighting off coming down with a virus or something, but i wanted to quickly pop on since i now have my deck in hand. and the cards are big and glorious--gorgeous matte cardstock, and as it turns out--i LOVE how the color themed borders were done in this deck. EmpyreanKnight Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 First, check your image file. It must be at most 1 MB. In a post you can post a total of at most 1 MB of images, so if you have 3 images that are 300 KB each you can attach all of then in a post. Second, your image files must be either gif, jpg, or png. Third, when you confirm all of the above, click on the Reply button of this thread. Fourth, in the text box where you type your replies, you can see the text "Attachments and other options. Click it." Fifth, you can see a Choose file button beneath the said text. Click it, then choose one image file that you wish to attach. Sixth, if you want to add more images in the post and the total won't exceed 1 MB, click on the "more attachments" link under the Choose file button. It will add another Choose file button underneath the first one. Repeat the fifth action detailed above. You can do this again as long as the cumulative size of the images won't excees 1 MB. Seventh, once you're finished, click the Post button to upload everything. I hope that helped, MoonGypsy. :)
Whisper Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 ETA: i am fighting off coming down with a virus or something 3 <3 Sorry to hear that, dearest MoonGypsy[/member] . Do hope it's nothing. *Lots of comforting hugs*
Miss Divine Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Hi guys! I just received the Everyday Enchantment a few days ago and I think everything about it is breathtaking. I don't find the borders obtrusive at all. The cards are are so rich in color, they are large and a buttery kind of matte finish. The book is excellent too! A lovely member guided me to this forum, so this is my very first time here. :)

So good to "see" you here!!! <3 i agree with everything you mentioned about Poppy's fantabulous EveryDay Endhantment set!!!!!!! i can't praise it enough, and i actually LOVE the borders in this particular deck, and i am usually a "borderless" peep!
Quester Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Love this deck too. My only problem is that with arthritic hands it is a little hard to shuffle as they tend to stick together for me. I think the cards are beautiful and the guide book is full of stories I can't wait to read!!!! It is truly an Enchanted deck!!!!
Miss Divine Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Thank you for the warm welcome! :) I still have to figure out how everything works here. But it's wonderful to see familiar names again. <3
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 We're glad to have you here, Miss Divine. ^-^
Scarlet Woodland Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 It sounds like it has that amazing cardstock they used on the Didactic Tarot. I looove that cardstock <3 .The huge, coordinated borders didn't bother me on that one so hoping i feel the same here. Have ordered from the US through Amazon as it was supposed to be in stock but now they're saying it's "temporarily" OOS :'( . Will give it a couple days but might have to cancel and wait it out for local copies if they mess me about. Have waited so long for this deck!
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 It sounds like it has that amazing cardstock they used on the Didactic Tarot. Because of the Mary-El, people think that Schiffer has an ultra-glossy and somewhat viscid cardstock. I point out to the Didactic and the Sol Invictus: The God Tarot, and also the Promethean Oracle (to an extent) to counter these. I hope that the Everyday Enchanted would have a great one as well, since Miss Divine did say that it has a buttery matte finish.

Well it was out of stock right up until a cheaper one came up and I tried to cancel. Suddenly they're dispatching it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It sounds like it has that amazing cardstock they used on the Didactic Tarot. I've had some truly ridiculous cardstock from Schiffer but if they published everything on that Didactic stock, oh my goodness. It's right up there with the nicest, self-pub cardstocks :)
