HOLMES Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 It was announced in fb groups and twitter late last night early this morning. Her deck the robin wood tarot has in my mind influenced generations of tarot readers and tarot deck creators Her book itself based on the robin wood tarot is the definition how a tarot deck creator should write a book on their deck. It is my understanding she has been long suffering from cancer. And so it is my prayer she is flying free in the light. My thanks to her spirit. And my condolences to her family
gregory Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) Indeed it is. Edited April 20, 2021 by gregory
Albadawn Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Many will be sad to hear of her passing. I understand she also created a lot of content for Second Life over the years.
Luna Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Oh I'm so sorry to read this! I was gifted this deck by a tarot customer of mine many years ago and after I got the deck, I also purchased the book for the deck. It is definitely my top fave deck to read with and I love her book as well, though unlike Robin, I do use reversals too. I'll keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers and wish Robin to RIP and thank her for her wonderful deck and book.
DanielJUK Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 such sad news, another tarot great gone 😢 I always loved her artwork but now want to buy her eponymous deck, somehow I missed owning it during my tarot learning journey. I was reading through her blog earlier (it's here if you want to read it) and her health deteriorated very fast over the last 3 months. They had advice and support and visiting nurses from a hospice exactly a week ago on Tues 13th and set up her house for her to be comfortable at home. Her partner on the 13th of April post asked the tarot community to send positive wishes and prayers that she would go in comfort and peacefully. Hopefully she did. RIP Robin Wood ❤️
ilweran Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Very sad. I read a couple of days ago that she was very ill.
joy Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 That is indeed very sad and I hope she passed over peaceful as was her wish ❤️
vulprix Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I love the Robin Wood Tarot and I just love the accompanying book as well. Her command of color pencils in the deck is also just incredible. The Robin Wood deck will continue to have a special place in my practice and I am so grateful that Robin Wood was here with us and shared her art with us. Blessings to you, Robin 💚

Niobium Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I was so sad to hear this, and in all honesty enraged when I read about her medical struggles. (I'd advise against back-reading her blog if cancer is at all a trigger for anyone; for those familiar with comic artist Kate Beaton's sister and that story, much the same happened to Robin Wood.) A preventable tragedy by all accounts. She was a talented artist, and will be missed.
TheLoracular Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 This is very sad news. She was incredibly talented and definitely an inspiration in multiple ways.
Page of Ghosts Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I'm so sad to hear this news. I used to own both her deck and book and I really admired her skills with those colour pencils. Rest in peace Robin Wood ❤️
Morwenna Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I'm astonished that I'm learning this for the first time 2 years after the fact! I have her deck and book; her deck has long been one of my 3 workhorses. And I was fortunate enough to have seen her and attended her Tarot workshops at several conferences, before and after her deck was published. She was delightful and gracious, and the Tarot world and the gaming world miss her very much.
