Hey, im wondering what would be the best partner for the knight of swords? If you think about the knights, they move a lot, from here there and everywhere. I cant imagine many women being able to have a relationship with him. So im thinking someone free, perhaps the star or 8 of wands? In fact im curious what kind of woman all knights would go for simply because they are never settled. They are always going somewhere serving some kind of battle and may die the very next day.

Elementally speaking Swords are air and are compatible with the Firey Wands. How about the Queen or Page of Wands or even the Knight's energy?

Or the Queen of Swords would be a good partner. Let me think about the love couple Bones (queen of Swords) and Booth (knight of Swords), from the televisie show Bones.

Astrologically speaking, one's zodiac sign is compatible with those whose sign shares the same element. Many systems correlate a specific zodiac sign with a court card. The element of the sign usually correlates directly with the elemental attribution of its corresponding suit too, like the Earth signs are all housed under the Pentacle courts while the Air signs are all under the Swords. Taking all of these into consideration, it seems that the Knight of Swords is compatible with all of the other court cards in the Swords suit except maybe for the Page of Swords, since it is only the higher courts that have a zodiac equivalent.

This is all very simplified tho. If you want to get technical and focus on Golden Dawn court decanates, it's going to be more complicated.

It's just I try to look at real life ppl who represent this card or in movies or history. You see someone like cleaopatra with Caesar - that's like the tower with the emperor. I couldn't imagine a knight having anything to do with a queen. They wouldn't dare cross that line and deceive the very king they honour. I see knight type of men with energetic women too, I just cant put a card to it. Like in the tv series gladiator the guy is having sex with and loves this carefree fiery woman. She's happy to let him go on his journey for a long time but is always there when he comes back. What card would that woman be? Perhaps 4 of wands? Not a cups or pents for sure. I agree that fire would be best. Not queen, but perhaps 8 of wands. So 4 and 8 of wands stand out for me.

Actually, in some decks the Knights are definitely paired with Queens. Take the Thoth for instance: the courts there are Knight, Queen, Prince, and Princess.

I do understand your apprehension of pairing the Knight with the Queen. In the tales of the Matter of Britain it is a serious breach in their code of chivalry. Witness how Launcelot's passion for his liege's Queen Guenevere led to the dissolution of Camelot. Or how Tristan's ill-fated love for his soon-to-be-Queen Isolde resulted in one of the most beautifully tragic love stories of all time. Thematically speaking, it might be verboten. But esoterically, it can be a match made in heaven.
