VGimlet Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 I am sticking with the Botanica this week because I didn't get to read with it quite enough. Very interesting deck, although I was soooo tempted with the Supernatural Tarot (yes, from the TV show) arrived.
vulprix Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I will be using my new Modern Witch Tarot this week ~
Madame Squee Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 (edited) Thank you for the thread, VG. 🌺 The Supernatural Tarot also arrived here on Tuesday -- and it went straight to my daughter-in-law. She loves Supernatural. I've never watched it but feel like I should give it a try now that there is a tarot deck. (I actually long for a "LOST" tarot. Benjamin Linus would have to be the Devil.) This week, I'm in with the Dreamkeepers Tarot. While I'm not actually ready to move on from last week's Tarot of Mystical Moments, the Dreamkeepers just arrived yesterday, and I can't wait for it. Thankfully, I don't anticipate bringing in anything else before October. Edited May 1, 2021 by Madame Squee clarification
Amberjune Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 I will be working with the Victorian Fairy Tarot and Werner Neuner's "Zeichen der Zeit" happy Beltane to all who celebrate and a happy week to everyone.
Bodhiseed Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 I'm in with the Deirdre of Sorrow Tarot paired with the Victorian Flower Oracle. Thank you VG!❤️ It may only be May 1st, but we're into summer here already, with temperatures at the 85 F mark. 🔥
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Hurray for Beltane! Tarot of Little Secrets for me, thank you VG
Bodhiseed Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 This week I'll be using the Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot, a self-published set created by Deirdre O'Donoghue and illustrated by Wayne McGuire. Along with it, I'll be drawing from the Victorian Flower Oracle, created by Alex Ukolov, Karen Mahony and Sheila Hamilton; it was published by Magic Realist Press. Today's draws are the Wheel of Fortune and Tulip: The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. ~William Arthur Ward Watched over by Anubis, the jackal-headed Egyptian god, a blindfolded woman turns the wheel of life. While humans can create change, much of what occurs in our lives is pure happenstance. We may be in the right place at the right time or vice versa. But the treasure to be found in a world of impermanence is the ability to adjust to change - without clinging to what we like or wailing at what we don't but rather accepting and dealing with it. Tulip suggests that there will be a turning toward prosperity or well-being, a welcome respite for the weary. But perhaps the words of Og Mandino should be taken to heart: "I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars." Wisdom and compassion are those stars.
VGimlet Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 I really like the Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot Bodhiseed, one of my favorites. Don't know if it's the card stock, or the art, or something else.

Don't know if it's the card stock, or the art, or something else. I am only seeing a glimpse of the deck for the first time, @Bodhiseed, but I love it too! Very beautiful! I did a reading for myself where I examined my base, neutral, and higher selves as I project myself outward, and then I drew a companion card from my very favorite oracle deck, the Begin deck. Some notes on the Modern Witch Tarot: - SO hard to shuffle! The standard tarot size mixed with slippery and thick cardstock is kind of a dream, but my hands are a bit small and they go all over the place. - I do love that the thin white borders were not corrupted by goddamned copyright information. So many props to the artist and publishing team. - I dislike the guidebook overall and find it a little too cute... but the cards are a treat and I feel very seen and represented by them. The reading itself for the tarot is straightforward, I feel, but I do a lot of ruminating in the sorrows, the jealousies, the “awakening to heartbreak” that the III of Swords evokes so it was good to be called out there. I also get the impression that I need to force myself out of my IV of Pentacles-ness often 🙂 I can be a conservator of order and am always mindful of material stakes. I enjoy seeing my higher self as the Knight of Pentacles. The pents suit is so often seen as “low” and earthy and Assiah and all of that, but it is usually my favorite suit. So noble and honest, and close to the ground in a subtle and understanding way. (Harry Potter nerdism ahead...) One time, one of my workers said that she thought I was such a Hufflepuff, even though most people see me as more Ravenclaw (and I like to see myself as Gryffindor). And I was unexpectedly charmed by this statement when she went on to compliment my work ethic and honesty, as well as my forthcoming with other people. It was praise that I don’t think I have ever gotten before. This Knight of Pentacles card makes me hope to always be hardworking and humble in the eyes of others 🙂 That kind of recognition only comes earned, through steadfast behavior. The Aurora Borealis card also relates to humility, in that it is about reveling in mystery and letting yourself be enchanted. Thanks for letting me share!! Edited May 4, 2021 by vulprix

Mi-Shell Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Oh, I think I am missing in reporting this week's actions: another round with my "Karten des Lebens" - cards of life..... Hard questions and surprising answers 🙂
Madame Squee Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 I will have to revisit the Dreamkeepers Tarot another time. It's a beautiful set. I love the full-size companion book written by the artist, Liz Huston. And the art is weird, which always appeals to me... Just not right now.
