Would you read it as looking to the future? The cross looks pretty plain I like the rider as it appears he is posing It says by marie lenormand.. I don't like that for obivously she didn't make it. So wonder who the artist was. I find the blue in the mountain hints at a waterfall?
Marisa Kirisame Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 It looks rather pure in it's illustrations' design, though, which I like. Do you, perchance, possess a link to the full gallery?

We were just talking about it. 2x3 is a nice size. Only slightly larger than a mini. @timtoldrum Edited May 3, 2021 by katrinka

The current Piatnik might even be a third edition. I seem to recall seeing one that was line drawings and soft colors, like the older one, but the people were dressed in a later style. 1920's if I'm not mistaken. But I can't find the images any more.

Yes. I remember seeing a Piatnik with different Gentleman and Lady cards. I’m sure Malkiel had an earlier version of it. Here is one version: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-lenormand-fortune-telling-1868035494 It has a different Child and Lady cards. But I’ve seen a different Gentleman, too. And I might be conflating the decks, but I seem to recall a version where the woman was dressed similarly, but the medium was the same as the one that LS is reprinting. It's surprising that no one has put together a website on historical Piatnik decks.

I have definitely seen one that you are describing.
