Albadawn Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Interested to hear your thoughts on this one folks. I’m very new at Lenormand, as you know. I’d like to keep a journal to record my understanding of the cards over time. How would you go about organising this? I was thinking of setting aside a few pages per card - one for each card on its own, plus sections for card combinations. I don’t know if that would work in practise or if I’m setting myself up for overwhelm. I’m already keeping a journal here now that I’m trying out daily readings, as I thought it would be easier to keep it searchable. But I really like having offline journals for things too. What do you think? 🙂
HOLMES Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 I am a messy virgo, as you can see in my playing inserts, i study one facet at a time but look to the overall system . My next areas of study. And these are not in order Colour(heart heart, heart diamond, heart spade, heart club etc) Nunces Or some sort of combo study. Most recomend daily 3 card study i think. But i think it depends on what you could think a beginner needs to move into intermediate. Like for yourself is your goal to do the grand tableu ?is it to master it as much as possible.? Or avoid it as some may do like you saw shared in the gt thread I saw astrology symbols on the mystical lenormand and see it listed in caitlin book.. Another system of study to apply. I think timtoldrum be best to answer that for he has taught a course on it. If you are any sort of artist. You could drawing basic lenormand images on playing cards. And journel on that..

What do you think? 🙂 My thoughts would be to get a filofax or small ring binder so you can move things around easily at the start. I would have a section with a page for each card so you can write down keywords and such like. Then a section for combinations, remembering that card order matters a lot! I would also have a section for readings of any sort (whether daily or otherwise). That's how I'd initially organise a Lenormand journal, I don't actually have one besides my daily readings journal in my usual filofax but it's something I've been considering starting too.
Raggydoll Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 When I made my old tarot journal I used an a5 binder and plastic sleeves. I gathered everything about each card in a separate sleeve. Then I created a page and glued in a picture of the card, and started gathering my thoughts on symbolism and meanings. That made it easy to update and add more information, and the pages has survived really well over the years. I still flip through it from time to time. Fun memories! 🙂 Digital journals are great too, I just prefer the tactile feel of an actual journal and do enjoy being able to access it without turning on a device 😊 (I have photographed the pages so that I can access it digitally too)

Thank you all for these great ideas!! I love the idea of a book where I can swap the pages about. I have a mushroom hole punch and some book covers around here somewhere, that could be really great!

What a great way to repurpose my old Filofax! I can’t seem to get rid of it but I didn’t know what to do with it.💡
Evan Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 I am a little bit geeky. I use excel file to tabulate them and differentiate them across the important details. I just started with all the Aces... will go accordingly. I will try to do the study according to the cards related for better understanding. As for my daily reading or any private leading, I will compile them with Microsoft One Note, and write my insight there.
Mesha Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I found this gorgeous datebook for mine. I figured it just had to inspire me! It came with a handy pencil case and a few dividers as well as a bunch of stuff I likely won’t use. I need to get a few more dividers for it though or figure out how to cut some down. I picked up these Thoughts books as cost effective journaling paper for it. I don’t know why loose leaf for these smaller binders is so expensive! The sheets are half the size 😕 I may just invest in a paper cutter and hole punch in the future. I do like the size of this better then a standard binder since I tote it around a lot.
euripides Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I love the idea of physical journals and have loads, but struggle to maintain them. Which is frustrating as I do adore collaged and decorated notebooks. So I mostly do digital - just using Evernote or OneNote. Easy to add images to from my phone, too!
Ziev Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I am like Euripides and use digital. I use my iPad and the Goodnotes5 app. I have loads of different oracle notebooks. Its also good for mind-mapping the core concepts to help you learn. Or at least it has helped me to do that. 😃
