I try to go to a new (next) page and I can't!

There is a 4th page in my thread about the Metaphorical and someone left a comment, I'd like to read it but the site keeps saying it can't find the page! Hopefully this is a sitewide problem that will be fixed soon!

It's not a glitch; it will be because you are ignoring someone who has posted in that thread - their posts "don't count" so you have fewer posts to view, and therefore fewer pages. If you go to the index and click on the first page of your thread, and go through one page at a time, it will work.

OK I'm still seeing the error message "there are no posts to show" when I try to get to the 4th page, this thread seems to have a reply that isn't showing up, and the title of the thread says that someone left a post there. It happens on both my phone and the computer. Help!

Sounds like you stuck on earlier version. 

Did you try logging out and in, ?

 

I find on android, it like chrome better. 

If you come here via the email link that can mess you up if link is older.

DND was saying she had the same problem in the forum suggestion thread the other day, missing pages and comments when you actually click on them. Will get it noted.

@DanielJUK It WILL be to do with ignored members. Their posts don't count when you look at a thread where someone yu ignore has been posting, so the thread appears to be shorter than it is if you have no-one on ignore. I have every reason to know this for a fact .

 

If there is a thread with - say - 4 pages, and there aren't very many posts on the last page, when you go to look at it, there will only be three pages if someone has posted a few times and is on your ignore list.

Exactly this. Everything's fine.
If it's a 9 page thread, but you only have 8 pages worth of posts from non-ignored members, you'll only see 8 pages and page 9 will be an error message.
It's easy enough to navigate to page 8, and a small price to pay for peace.

The most probable cause for this is indeed  that the thread contains a post by someone you have on ignore. It would cause exactly the situation you describe. So not a tech issue as such, and nothing that staff can do anything about 🙂
