Wow! These posts are always awkward for me. I never know what to say and feel it always sounds silly or contrived.

So let’s  start out with 3 truths and 3 falsehoods about me and see if you can ascertain which is which

I live in New York in a tiny shoebox apartment

I get anxiety if my coffee cup gets low

Without my morning can of Mt Dew my day sucks

Im a crazy cat lady

I have a suicidally inclined dog

Going tiny and traveling from festival to festival reading cards is a dream of mine.

Now nothing but the truth

Im a retired witch who lives with her 2 poms and bewildered hubby.

I’ve recently gone back on a “I will learn to read all those cards I have bought” kick. Lenormand is the one I have had the most success at. I’d say my collection numbers about 30 but I suspect it’s much more then that. I’ve never bothered to count. My 1st deck was the Hoi Poi Tarot and I still have it.
And so you can have the tea my favorite is the Bigelow Salted Carmel. To me it tastes like what I think coffee should. If you are going to ice it I prefer something fruity though.

Merry Meet Ya’all!

Welcome mesha !!

As you can see the lenormand board is going for some changes but sooner or later it will be back up and we can share again.

I trust everything you say is a truth .

I am an ojibwe native living in canada, i mux my traditional teachings with what they call new age .

So i bow in retrospect  to you and spiritual ways.

The universe is grand.

Ah 30 lenormand decks?

Impressive for me as i got only 8ish

I look forward to discussing and reading your sharings.

Oh i must know do you have any of the witches tarot ? Like witches, green witches, everyday witch, silver witch . Pagan tarot?

I am hoping you like the artwork on some of them

The old witches tarot by us games in late 80s? I didn't like it.

I hope that my lighthearted attempt at fun with the 3 true and 3 untrue didn’t  offend.  I’m socially awkward at times when it comes to getting to know folks. This is my reintroduction- my 1st introduction back in Nov 2019 when I joined is straight up.
I’m so glad to have rediscovered this forum now that I’m digging back in.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find I have 30 Lenormands. I’m pretty sure I have outpaced the number of tarot decks I own with them since I can somewhat read them without having to dig a book up. I just discovered that section was closed so I’m a bit sad about it but I can use the focus on tarot.
I do not have any of the witches Tarot decks. I came close to buying the Everyday Witch Tarot last week but the 1 I offered on on eBay got bought out from under me and then I couldn’t decide if I needed the format with the book or to just get the mini version. I ended up getting Sawyers Lenormand for my Mother’s Day gift instead. I’m unfamiliar with the deck from the 80’s.
This was my 1st deck - https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/hoi-polloi/

You are Ojibwe ! How very interesting! I know little about the practices but what little I do know about is very spiritually touching.

Oh no worries, no offense taken, i myself was being teasing .

Sawyer lenormand is beautiful when it comes to the lady and gentleman.

Almost like those could be from an elk lenormand deck.

This was the one i was thinking off

https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tarot-of-the-witches/

It says came out in 91.

In my search for it. This app showed up

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foolsdog.witches

Gee imagine that.

But back to you.

WELCOME

Hello @Meshawelcome to the TT&M Family! Love your intro have to think which ones are true and which are false?

Posted

welcome to the forum @Mesha glad you have rediscovered us again and you didn't offend anyone with your introduction I am sure 🙂

I am going to go with random intuition and say the truths are....

- living in NY in a tiny apartment

- Although it's possible to have cats and dogs, I am thinking it's one or the other but then a tiny apartment maybe crazy cat lady seems more plausible

- final truth is going to festival to festival reading maybe

@katrinka- wonderful! It’s always good to encounter friends 😉   Sadly I don’t recognize you by your handle here. You’ll have to message me and let me know.  If I had to guess I’d go with someone I know from Facebook that has a fantastic blog where mention was made on a recent controversial post that this was your favorite hangout for fortune telling discussion. That’s how I rediscovered the site.

@DanielJUK - your final guess was correct as well as the assumption that I have either cats or dogs

Here’s a clue- my 2 poms

Spoiler

Thanks for the hints @Meshathen my guesses are:

- you get anxiety if your coffee cup gets low

- you have a suicidally inclined dog

And no of course I do not think you have offended anyone!

@Mesha - You guessed correctly, but you have a PM anyway. 😁

Those are gorgeous Poms. Pomeranian pics are always a pleasure!
I have a thing for double coated floofy dogs.

You are right about the dog! My black Pom is into everything and she’s a ninja at finding stuff. I’ve yet to figure out how that tiny dog got the mesh kitchen strainer out of the sink to chew it up. Why would a dog want to chew on that anyhow? I guess if my pincushion full of needles and pins was happy crunching then there could be some odd attraction there.
As to my coffee anxiety- The only thing I get anxious about running out of is TP. In the near 40 years I have been on my own I have run out 1 time.  When Corona hit I was one of the few that wasn’t out searching the stores. I got down to a 4 pack though and it was deeply scaring.
Growing up I never learned to like the taste of coffee. I adore the smell of it though.  If the brew tasted as heavenly as it smells I would be so addicted to it I’d drink it in my sleep.  My favorite tea to drink hot called Salted Carmel comes as close as I can imagine to what coffee should taste like. Since I don’t drink coffee my morning pick me up and addiction is an ice cold can of Mt Dew. It has more caffeine anyhow 🤪.   Sadly my inability to tolerate the cup of Java only further contributes to my social awkwardness.  Unless you’ve experienced being left out you don’t think about what a social thing coffee drinking is in our society.

And for the last truth…….  As you might have surmised from my dream of going tiny and traveling I don’t already live tiny. I live in a house that’s way to big for hubby and I now that the kids are grown and gone. We live in the SE corner of Texas that’s really nothing like what one would think Texas should be. It’s much closer in fact to the swamps of Louisiana then anything but with Houston 100 miles away the flair of the Mexico border culture can also find its way into the mix.  We also live in the Bible Belt so a good number of folks hereabouts look on card reading as the Devil’s Work.

Thanks everyone for your lovely compliments on my fur children!

You're in the pretty part. Bet you have spanish moss!

And I agree, dogs are unconsciously suicidal until they get out of the chewing stage. Happy, but suicidal.

Pretty part? That’s further north.
We have trees but pretty ends there. The grass is weird- it’s like a wet sponge laying over the dirt. There are so many mosquitoes you’d think they were clouds. The humidity never dips below 80% so everything always feels damp. Once you get out of the shower or if you sweat you stay damp for hours because the air is too saturated to pull the moisture from you.
I’ve not seen Spanish moss but then I’m not the type to venture away from the safety of my manicured suburb lawn into snake and alligator territory.

Oh dear that means everything dangerous has to be high up! However a one would think the kitchen sink is a place not easy to reach!

The TP made me giggle but only after I did a search to find out what it stand for.... 🤪

Are you saying people will not have coffee with you in the morning if you choose something else to drink? That is odd and I would then think those people are not worth hanging out with anyway... 😉

I live smack in the middle of Texas and make no effort to hide it.
They haven't done anything to me, they just stay away for the most part. I LIKE that. On the rare occasions that they try preaching at me anyway, I just ask them if they've sold all that they have and given the money to the poor yet, and remind them that Jesus said to do that.
Boundaries are a wonderful thing to have. 😁

Right and honestly that is one good thing of being at a certain age, I do not have to fit in anymore, I know who I am 😝

Yes. And I think even some of the younger people could benefit from keeping the fanatics out of the dating pool. 😁

No- not at all. It’s just very often socially folks offer coffee and I feel off as a guest turning down their hospitality. It adds to he socially awkward feelings to explain that I don’t like the stuff. Even in public places free coffee will often be offered as a service like hospitals, funerals, the auto repair shop. Sometimes I feel left out.

Oh- no need. I’m all for wherever a conversation wanders.

I don’t really take much effort to hide it. I’m getting to old to pretend. I just don’t shove my beliefs into folks faces like the previously mentioned door knockers.
I did find that a vine pentacle wreath hanging on the door tends to keep those door knockers away. The kids and their friends made some and one ended up hanging on the door.  I was kinda surprised Hubby let it stay because he worries since about 10/15 years ago the little new age store around the corner got burned down. They didn’t even have anything more witchy then a few decks of Tarot cards. Rumor was it was a bunch of kids but who knows- this town has a reputation.  I think things have mellowed around here a lot since the government forced integration in the housing project.
My Midwest raised brain just will never understand why folks can’t just mind their own teakettle. It’s not hard to love your neighbor or ignore him.
