Today, I had a horrible experience with MPC (MakePlayingCards.Com). I had a bit of difficulties with the box template. They said they will help me out with it until they found out they couldn't help me out. But, said I should do it myself. I dislike this type of customer service. Because, I am a customer. And, I find it extremely rude for them saying that to me. I was never given any tutorials on how to work with the box template. It would be helpful if they provided such measures. I would never do business with this company again. I suggest everyone else avoid this company too. I've worked hard on designing every card that for my tarot deck. It was something to to be proud of. But, this ended up in disappointment.

Wow sorry for your experience.

Were you able to protect your deck copyright.

They are basically the same company as printerstudio, and I've never had a moment's trouble with them - I've always received a quality product - though I usually ran with plain white boxes - and where I had made a mistake they contacted me before printing, in case I wanted to change it (once yes, twice no; I meant it !) But they are basically cheap and cheerful; you get what you pay for. There are fairly detailed box instructions on the site. though - what was the problem ?

I am sorry they were rude. I believe none of these print on demand sites gives you free help with design issues. I believe they might advice you if its an uncomplicated thing but they don't go in depth and they won't actually do any alterations for you unless you pay. I don't know exactly what your issues were, but in their information it says

"If you would like help on account and product setup or help on file type conversions, please see our rates below and fill in the form for our help. "

Regarding tutorials.. if you download their template then there are instructions in the bottom corner. It does requires some tech skills. Like so:

(I just grabbed the first one and screenshotted it, it is probably not the one that is right for your project, but I wanted to show you what I mean)

I haven't used MPC myself but I know others that have. They have generally said positive things. I use printerstudio. Printerstudio does also require you to look up the right sizes yourself, to download templates and make sure your format is correct. They will advice you very briefly for free but I believe they will not do any work for you unless you hire them. I haven't had reasons to contact them much but the few times I have spoken with them, they have been nice. They just won't go in depth with explaining things, and that is why I have asked tech-savvy friends for help with stuff that I am unsure about.

If you explain your exact issues here then maybe someone can help you out!

Printerstudio and MPC are basically the same company. They are not designers; that's down to us creators.

Yes, its like a DIY service really.

If you want it all done for you, you need a company that offers that as part of the service. And that costs,

Try cartamundi, if you want an actual production service,.

Until a deck goes up for sale by its owner, no-one else can see it - and they only print things that the owner asks to have printed. Not an issue.
