vulprix Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Hello all! 🙂 I plan on working with the Robin Wood Tarot this week… maybe some Cat Tarot on the side
Amberjune Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I'm in with the Archangel Power Tarot Cards and the Terra Oracle. Happy week to all.
Bodhiseed Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I really enjoyed the Tarot of the Abyss but did not care for the Lantern Oracle, so I'll spend another week with the Tarot of the Abyss but pair it with the Nature's Mandala Meditation Cards.
Bodhiseed Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 This week I'll continue using the Tarot of the Abyss, created by Ana Tourian and published by U.S. Games. I've paired with it the Nature Mandala Meditation Cards, created and self-published by Michelle Wallace. Today's draws are Strength and Connect with the Light: Ultimately, the only power to which man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself. —Elie Weisel Tourian's lion does not in any way resemble a domesticated feline; he looks like he could eat someone without blinking. We all have this power within that can be used without restraint, repressed or honored and engaged with creatively. What kind of relationship do we have with it? It isn't evil or something of which we need to be ashamed; it just happens to communicate through strong emotions when it delivers a message. Connect with the Light implies a call to clarity and a wide perspective. In the middle of an emotional tsunami, how do we find these things? Pema Chodron suggests feeling your feelings, first physically, then emotionally, but without the mental story-line (thoughts that escalate things). The point is not to transcend, but to connect. Place your hand over your heart as you do this, telling yourself, "It's okay. I'm here for you." Settle in and be fully present with tenderness and kindness rather than judgment. Calm will eventually come, and when the emotional waves subside, we'll have a much clearer view of the horizon.

It is not easy to truly connect and utilize one’s strength with clarity of purpose! Really loving that Strength card, too. I like the Strength cards where the human figure doesn’t appear to be manhandling the lion

I like the Strength cards where the human figure doesn’t appear to be manhandling the lion Thank you. ❤️ I agree; it is hard to calm the beast in order to discover the message sometimes! I'm really enjoying Tourian's Tarot of the Abyss. Her illustrations have a 'wild energy' to them that is lacking in many decks.
toj Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Working with the Witches Wisdom Tarot this week. Saw it in the store and liked the images but wasn’t sure about it. Amazon had a good price so ordered it there. I shuffled cards for several days before drawing my first cards from a fanned out deck. I pulled 3 major arcana cards and a 4th to clarify. They are fairly intuitive despite not feeling comfortable with them yet.
Mi-Shell Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Hi toj!♥ The Witches Wisdom deck looks very interesting! My deck of the week is the Herbal Tarot I have a friend here, that knows a lot more about Chinese herbal medicine than I do and we are both looking at the deck 🙂
Guest Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 (edited) I'm going to be using The Field Tarot this week. @Bodhiseed, Ana Tourian has such a cool take on tarot. Her Strength card is one of the few I've seen that gets the meaning across so well and (doesn't look like the woman on the card is struggling to make the lion swallow a pill). The Three of Swords and Justice from Tarot of the Abyss are also some of my favorites. Edited August 8, 2021 by Guest

I almost didn't buy Tourian's deck because I prefer some color, but I'm so glad I did! Her takes on the cards are like a breath of fresh air. I never do two weeks in a row with the same deck, but I wanted to work with the Abyss for more than one week.
