Does Anyone Remember the Details of this Technique?

Last year I read, in a popular page on Facebook, about a method of divination with the tarot to answer Yes  / No questions (which I usually avoid).

It was something like this:

Cut the deck after shuffling into 4 equal stacks

Draw from the top of each stack until you either: A.) Draw and Ace, or B.) Draw X number of cards.

The # of aces you pull, between 0 and 4, influenced the answer.

I do not remember when you are supposed to stop drawing (  X = ?)

It would be fun to experiment with, but I cannot find the post. Has anyone definitively heard of this, and can you provide the possible missing details?

Yes, but it's more properly done with playing cards.

Thank you Katrinka. The method I saw was not so elaborate in answers, but having the deck split into an equal number of cards look appealing.

Thanks for the fast response.

No problem. 🙂
Yes, I've seen less detailed variations over the years. Usually "yes - probably - maybe not - no" type results. And I'm pretty sure I've seen some version of the one where you stop laying cards on a stack if an Ace turns up, otherwise stop at X number of cards and move on to the next. (Probably 14 with Tarot? Just remove the Majors first.) But Miss Cat's is the most precise, I think.

There's also a Tarot method where you shuffle the cards, ask your question, and deal out 39 cards from your deck. You then look for Aces. The number of Aces gives you your answer.

4 - Strong yes

3 - Favorable

2 - Up in the Air

1 - No

And supposedly the cards surrounding those Aces tell the circumstances related to the situation.

I've had some success using this method.

I think it would be really interesting if we created a thread where we list all the different methods for yes/no divination (not just cards, but other methods could be included too), and then we could all put them to the test and review each method for its accuracy. Not sure what category to put it in - perhaps divination. It would be cool to have a resource like that for people to browse.

Just a suggestion! 😁
