Referring to Andy Boroveshengra's book, he talks about the meaning "weight" of birds. "... If you are asking for information about that day or that week, the cards' meanings are not going to be as heavy as in a reading covering eight weeks' time or more ... the Birds is more likely to show a telephone call, or being in a flap or busy, than short-lived sorrow or a surprising trip in the week ahead. In readings covering a longer period, the Birds is more often anxieties, rather than just telephone calls".

I'm wondering what the most likely meaning would be for a month period. Given a month is sort of in the middle - more than a week but not as long as two months, I'm leaning towards an interpretation of anxieties, stress etc. The reason I ask, is because I'm trying my hand at a 3 x 3 layout for practice for this month. The top row was Bouquet + Birds + Lady (I did not intentionally pick out Lady for a significator). My interpretation would be disappointment or unhappiness. Am I being too simplistic?

I would be interested to know what other's experiences are with the meaning of the Birds - whether it is phone calls or stress and anxieties for a given period of time.

Bouquet + Birds + Lady could be a female friend of yours that is chatty (you could be chatty too)!

It's just something possible, not the only option of course. In a 3x3 layout the central card "weights" more and could give a direction to the other cards.

My 2 cents!

I am thinking it depends on what you would consider the time frame for the “full weight”. You are going by 2 months as “full weight” if I read the above correctly yes?  I have always thought it was more like 6 months to a year but I think also it has to do with all the other cards in close proximity, very much like @Decan said. That noted, seeing the entire spread, a photo always helps me out immensely, could assist us all in figuring this out/assisting you. That is if the spread and it’s accompanied question is of a nature you wish to share 😊

i came back to edit as I misstated myself, I use 3 months now as full weight so we are much closer in time frames and to me that makes those surrounding cards even more interesting to look at in view of your question.

Thanks for your suggestion Decan. Definitely not me being chatty (I'm very reserved) but it could be a friend of mine who never shuts up, hahahaha! I hadn't yet focused on the other cards when posting, trying initially to understand the 3 horizontal lines, starting with the first one.

Thanks Wizard. Yes, that's correct. As per Andy's book - 2 months "full weight". I have attached the entire spread if that helps. I'm not sure who "The Lord" is. I'm a widower and don't have any romantic attachments or interests. The Child would be my son, as he is (hopefully, depending on the States being reopened from lockdown) going to come from interstate to help me move. I'm finding it very challenging trying to understand the meaning of the cards above which influence the cards below.

When writing about "weight", I believe Andy was referring to progression of card essences in general forecasts. If a specific question is posed, my understanding is that the "weight" of the card would be more determined by the individual context of that question whether than time frames.

I believe by saying Birds can mean phone calls, Andy was trying to say that the everyday stress that we experience can sometimes take the form of phone calls and/or gossip. In my readings, Birds do seem lean more towards meaningless chatter and transitory fuss when read as a form of communication.

I would interpret the Bouquet+Birds+Lady in a way similar to yours, but I don't see the Bouquet's happiness as being completely negated by the Birds. Your may experience some sort of disturbances that affects your happiness (Bouquet+Birds+Lady), as the Birds sit right on top of the Lord, this could relate to a specific male whom the Lady will make the acquaintance of (Garden+Lord). The second row could also be that this male brings some sort of change in to your social circle. But, either way, this Lord doesn't seem to be particularly helpful (Garden a bit distant), and the Lady might experience some minor frustrations financially with him (Birds+Lord+Fish).

Just some of my thoughts.

That's awesome Sadewa! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Your post makes good sense and gives me plenty to think about.

I confess when It comes to both the Lord and the Child in this spread I get confused. My confusion is, is your son the Child or the Lord, with the Child taking on one of it’s other meanings?  Wiser Lenormand minds then mine are needed here I think.

If we were to use the Lord as your son, in a way that makes more sense to me as he would be more central to your situation then as it sounds like you might be counting on his help.

‘’Did you post the actual question you asked?  Perhaps I missed it or it’s of a nature you don’t wish to share - that is of course fine. I ask because it might help further assist us with looking at this.

Lastly, I do like the cards you used, I am in the minority I know, but the artwork always spoke to me, a personal taste matter I guess. I do say the Crossing versus Cross card made  an issue for me until I really had the Cross memorized.

I'm so sorry Wizard. I completely forgot to mention. I didn't have a specific question, I asked "what do I need to know about this month?" Very broad I know but I was going off a suggestion from another thread somewhere, doing a 3 x 3 for the month ahead.

I too am very perplexed regarding The Lord and Child. I presumed the Child would be my son, as he is pivotal in me moving interstate and he is after all, my son. I can't for the life of me think of who The Lord would be. The vertical column Lady + Storks + Child I thought was my son involved in my move interstate.

The horizontal row - Cross + Fish + Child is now interesting. I spoke to my son today, after speaking to the Queensland authorities. The authorities said my son would have to spend 2 weeks in hotel quarantine, which he would have to pay for, if he came into New South Wales to help me move and then returned to Queensland. He was horrified, as he has his own landscaping business and wouldn't be able to spend 2 weeks without work, let alone having to pay for 2 weeks in hotel quarantine.

I'm still trying to work out the rest of the layout. The Lord being the central card, has me completely stumped. As such, I'm having problems trying to work out the rest of the cards.

Thanks for your input. It is very much appreciated.

Sorry if I push myself in, in a "dead thread". But my thoughts on the Lord meaning/child meaning is that if your son is over 18 he should be represented by the Lord here. And the Child card meaning would probably point to "new beginnings". But, I´m a total newbie so. I could be oh so wrong 😄

Thanks Smilla. I'm always grateful for other's insights, no matter how dead the thread is. That's an interesting perspective. I didn't think the Lord could represent my son but it's worth thinking about. I'll have to have another look at the cards.
