I tried to post awhile ago and I got this:

Capture.thumb.JPG.eb4319cadbf95a1ba6c76a72d95baa56.JPG

When I finally got the page back up, the text I had written was gone.
I went to Chrome after that just to see if it was more stable. It wouldn't let me log in and gave me a message that I was locked out for 15 minutes, even though my username and password were autofilled and totally correct.

So I came back to Waterfox and I was logged out here, too, with the same message that I was locked out for 15 minutes.

I'm in now, obviously, but I wasted a good half hour. What's going on?

I haven't changed anything, nor see any news or updates on the back end that would warrant this sudden behavior.

I suggest clearing cache and cookies and trying again, based on seeing the workaround for this error on other websites.

Let me know if it persists after that! 🙂

I'd also suggest running a malware check; I had that happen to me on another forum the other day.... I don't know if the check turned anything up as I wasn't paying attention, but it was all fine afterwards.

It also seems to be tied to security software - were you still on carto when Kaspersky was doing it almost daily ? image.png.853388647cc94e425625ee5d3a0478ba.png

I searched google for the error and it seems to happen quite commonly with Firefox. The cache version of website pages has corrupted. This page seems helpful.....

If it ever happens, go the forum pages and hit Ctrl + F5 on Windows machines and Cmd + Shift + R on Macs. It does a hard refresh (such a useful key combo to remember) and you get the latest new version of any website over the stored data.

I use Firefox as my main browser and never had this but I have had the cache corrupt at times. At the beginning of every month I manually delete my history and cache so it's fresh. It seems to stop errors happening. I try to keep the Cookies though because I hate logging in to every website again 😆

To clear the cache manually you can get to this through history and options/ preferences but there is a handy direct key combo. On Windows it's Ctrl + Shift + Del, you might need to go through menus on Mac. When you get the window, select All Time in time range, in History select everything but I would leave Active Logins and Cookies blank unless you are having problems. In Data I select Offsite Website Data but not preferences.

I don't know why the other browsers logged you out though.

But hard refresh if it immediately happens, get a fresh version of the page 🙂

Thanks for all that, guys, and yes - will do! Nice having those keyboard shortcuts now, Daniel.
And it's good to know what's causing it - or causing the error message, anyway. I've gotten it before, but I never had everything go as crazy as it did yesterday!
