VGimlet Posted September 25, 2021 Author Posted September 25, 2021 (edited) Another week with the Stolen Child, and this week I'll also be using the Fluid Color playing card deck I got as an extra with another deck. I don't often use playing cards as oracles, but I'm going to give it a go this week for something different. Different is good right. Listening to the Fleet Foxes - Blue Spotted Tail. I was friends with the guitarists mom starting from when he was a middle school kid, and we always joked I was their first fan who wasn't related. It is the perfect song for Autumn, and made me a bit nostalgic, as Fall tends to do.. Edited September 26, 2021 by VGimlet

It is the perfect song for Autumn, and made me a bit nostalgic, as Fall tends to do.. That song does have a contemplative, Autumn vibe (just had a listen). I enjoy acoustic guitar. 🙂 I'm in this week with the Osho Zen Tarot paired with the A’HA Oracle.
Amberjune Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 @VGimlet oooh, I really like the Fleet Foxes, so wonderful that you have a connection to them. Love their music for fall and their White Winter Hymnal is great for the holiday season..not yet though! 🙂 My decks for the week are the Chrysalis Tarot and the Herbal Healing Oracle. Happy week to you all. I'm on vacation, enjoying wonderful hikes and plenty of books.
vulprix Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 This week, it’s the Wooden Tarot and the Oracle of Black Enchantment. @VGimlet… I would give my left arm to have known one of the Fleet Foxes 😆 That’s rad as hell! I love their music so much, and thank goodness I have seen them live!
Bodhiseed Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 This week I'll be using the Osho Zen Tarot, created by Ma Deva Padma and published by St. Martin's Press. I'll also be using the A'HA Oracle, created and self-published by Linnie Lambrechtsen. Today's draws are the King of Swords and Heart Urchin: With his sharp, geometric angles, it's clear this King likes things squared away and sharply delineated. On the plus side, people know exactly what is expected. Yet seeing things in grayscale leaves no room for mercy or kindness. To reduce life to a monochrome photograph leaves out the dynamic, colorful causes and conditions that constantly shape people's decisions and actions. It might make judgments easier, but it certainly doesn't make them fair or appropriate. The Heart Urchin looks like a sea-dwelling hedgehog with its dense covering of small spines. But after death, the spines fall away, leaving the inner skeleton which has a slight heart shape. This card suggests we follow Walt Whitman's advice: "Be curious, not judgmental." Like glancing at the title and cover illustration of a book, we often assume we know what's inside. But behind each of us is a deep story; if we don't know it, we won't really know the other person.

I've seen them quite a few times live - once my name was on the list at the door, which was crazy fun. It was both exciting and inspiring watching them grow over the years, from their first gig at a coffee shop as the Pineapples with just the two of them, to becoming a popular band. I'm on vacation too! So far I've just read a lot, and caught up on some chores - it's going to be so nice to just chill. It's been awhile since I've used playing cards to read with, kind of fun!
