gingerblue Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I *adore* the Amethyst Oracle and want to purchase it so badly but I'm wavering. I'm spending a lot of time looking at the deck online, and trying to do readings based on the cards people post on their Instagram and blogs, but I'm having a tough time. I don't know why that is- most oracle decks, even without a LWB, just really work for me. I love doing intuitive readings straight from the cards. I think that I'm really "moved" by seeing an artist's hand in the artwork on Oracle Cards, and the images on the Amethyst Oracle are so perfectly vector that I can't seem to get any sort of energy off them. I'm just wondering if any of you have any experience using it and how your readings go with it. Any experience/insight would be wonderful. Thank you!
Lantana Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I own both the Amethyst Oracle and the OOP Idiosyncradeck and use them together. I've never really minded the vector art, and while I'm not sure what you mean by "artist hand" I do see a lot of the artist in the unique way she depicts some of the ideas in the cards. Lot of artist voice in this deck for sure. As for how it reads... Well, I don't really ever use it without the sister tarot deck, but it matches it in energy almost near perfectly. So: Very to the point, but also likes to throw a lot of curveballs that makes you think in a "I've never seen this card this way before" way. I think that matches up well with the content of the deck itself: It's an all-around oracle but it has cards that aren't in any oracle I've seen. If you'd like, I might try it out just by itself and report back to you since it seems like I might be the only one here that owns it. :-[
gingerblue Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 I ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive! I'd love to hear more of your specific experiences with it, since I think I'll have to teach myself to use it intuitively without the matching Tarot (missed out on that). Thanks for sharing your experience- I'm very excited to get it!
