Hi everyone. This is my first tarot forum, but I'm excited to join and get more opinions from other people. In real life I only have a couple people to ask for help with interpretations and I feel bad always going to the same ones! I already found a few helpful posts in here though. I'm thinking of maybe buying some tarot books if anyone has any recommendations. I'm fairly new but I want to learn more. I'm also into sidereal/vedic astrology. I chose my username after The Star card because it's the one that represents my zodiac sign (Aquarius) and it holds a lot of meaning for me. Does anyone else have one special card that they feel represented by or that really resonates for them?

Hi! Another newbie here! 🙋‍♀️ My special tarot card is The High Priestess/The Popess!

Hi @star717! Welcome to TT&M, I hope you find it a wonderful place to enrich your Tarot journey!

One book I personally recommend on Tarot is “Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom: A Book of Tarot” by Rachel Pollack! I also like a lot the companion book of the Mythic Tarot, by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene… it has helped me A LOT when I first started learning.

I don’t think I have any special card I related too personally… but I have always liked the High Priestess and the Moon! 🌙

Hi & welcome. 🙂
I'd suggest reading the foundation books for your preferred deck type first - Waite for RWS, Crowley for Thoth (and Duquette to help you understand Crowley, lol.) Let us know what deck or decks you're using, since there are a lot more kinds than just those and the recommendations may be different.

Then go from there.

If you're using RWS or something based on it, you're in luck: you can read Waite free online.

Hello and welcome! Good to see other newbies ☺️

My card is the Queen of Wands. Not because I'm a particularly loud or gregarious person (a common depiction of the QoW I think?), but because I feel like I need to channel her. My journey at the moment is seeking my own light and spark, and rediscovering my inspiration from within. There was a King of Wands in my life, and he is no more (in my life, that is. He didn't physically die!). The light went out for quite a while. I'm getting there 🙂
