Saule Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Hello guys, I'm having something really strange happening here. 6 of Swords has been stalking me A LOT recently, I did about 9 readings over the past few days and 6 of Swords came up in around 6 or 7 of them, usually as a base. I've had stalker cards before, but not to such extent. To me, this is actually the best proof that Tarot cards work. What are the chances of this happening? Another card that has been stalking me a little bit is Knight of Cups too, but not to such a great extent (maybe 5 readings or so). I feel like this card is about moving on. I've actually been thinking about breaking things off with my bf. Could it be pointing to that? Does anyone have any other suggestions? It'll keep stalking me until I do something.
Grizabella Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 It's hard to say what it would mean for you. What was your question? What were the named positions? If you get more precise by having a specific question and named positions, then you wouldn't be so confused by what that card means. If you're just "pouring a puddle" of cards, that's very vague and you can't make heads nor tails of it as you can see. Any card will have millions of meanings. You can't settle on just one or a few meanings and consider that's what it's always going to mean, any more than you can take one word out of a sentence or paragraph and consider it always means the same thing. Cards are read in combinations. For instance, to over-simplify, the Lovers card doesn't mean a soulmate. It would take at least a 2 of Cups and the Lovers for me to read that there was anything romantic there. One thing you might do is take whatever card it is that you say is "stalking" you and draw a few cards about it, asking "what does this card want me to know?" or some question like that. And then name the positions, such as "what does this card want me to know about (whatever topic)". Once you start doing your specific questions and named positions, you'll find it lots easier to interpret them and the cards will probably quit stalking you.
Eric13 Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I'll second what's been said, and add what deck was used, but it may possibly mean there's a definite logical answer right there for you. Maybe.
Guest Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 This is about a 'stalker' card, right? As in one that keeps popping up (regardless of the spread or the reading or the question). Which means it's trying to tell you something - popping out to say HEY. LISTEN. TO. ME. ABOUT. THIS. I think go with your gut really on this. Be honest with yourself. What truth is there niggling away in your mind/heart that you are ignoring? 6 swords certainly looks like a card about moving on, but moving on to where? Moving away from something or towards something? I like Jessica Dore's opening sentence to the 6 of swords: "Breaking patterns is hard".
Raggydoll Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 @Saule I know you posted one of your readings here and that it did contain the 6 of swords. I also noticed that your deck had imagery that wasn’t exactly in line with the RWS. So a general discussion on the traditional meanings of 6 of swords might not be entirely relevant. I also got the impression that you were reading for someone else since you referred to “her” and not “me”. So if that’s the case, I’m not sure that the 6 of swords would be stalking you. Were those 9 readings done on topics relating to you? If not, maybe it’s a theme that many of your sitters are going through. One other thing, if this starts to involve details of particular readings then we’re going to need to move this thread to Your readings. In this current category it is meant to be very general topics, not advice on specific readings or situations in your life. So let us know if you wish to go deeper with the details and then we’ll simply move the thread for you. Good luck!
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 having seen this subject often, I'll go a different route and ask how you shuffle. I only ask because the mechanics of shuffling create part of the problem. If you take two halves of the deck and fold them into each other the first five-ish and last five-ish only move a little bit. You can do this yourself, and observe where those front and back cards always end up even after you've shuffled a number of times. To avoid this trap, at some point during the shuffle take 1/2-1/3 of the bottom back cards and move them to the top of the other half. and then avoid dealing cards off the top like a game of rummy or poker. I fan the deck and chose a cards at random.
Grizabella Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 To make really sure that my deck is fully randomized, I deal it out into several piles. Maybe 4 or 5 piles. Then I reassemble the deck and I can be sure it's fully randomized. I then do a riffle or a few riffles or a fan and choose from the fan.
katrinka Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Picking from a fan is a good idea for oversized decks that are difficult to shuffle thoroughly. Griz, your avatar is very similar to AJ-ish/Sharyn's. Are they cousins? 😁
