Bodhiseed Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Saw this on a review done by Benebell Wen - an oracle based on musical symbols. It seems rather plain but looks well thought-out. The oracle can be ordered here.
legendaryelement Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Oh! Thank you for the heads-up! Might be fun to pair with a color oracle ...

I read the guidebook that is available in pdf format and they certainly put a fair amount of thought into it. While I was reading it, I could think of a bunch of extra notation symbols that could be added. The current number of cards does seem a bit low to me. I wonder how it would read – I know I should try Also I wonder how easy it would be for someone who's not familiar with music notation. I'm an orchestral composer in a parallel life of mine, and it cannot be easy for someone who doesn't read music to know the musical meaning of some of the symbols, which is the starting point to derive the divinatory meaning of the cards. The big shortcoming of this deck immo is that the artwork is somehow uninspiring to me. Extremely minimalist. Just the symbol. It reminds me of a pip deck. Even the eye wants its part. i think I'm gonna get the deck and yes, other symbols... and slightly strange choice of some of them (especially ostinato)... I think those of us with musical training would actually have a harder time working with the deck as it is,or as suggested because we're gonna interpolate other, more exact meanings (alternate ones?) and really, the Ostinato? but I like integrating that part of my brain and pushing it more to the intuitive...
