Aguilita_tarot Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Hey everybody, After a break from tarot, I've decided to come back full force by doing a daily read and posting it online as a sort of tarot diary to keep building on my skill as a tarot reader. 3 cards that have always stumped me though (apart from the court cards) are Judgement, Justice and Temperance. I can't draw a clear line between the three to differentiate them and explain them better. Judgement for me means finding out what the querent thinks is best for them; Justice is finding what is morally or ethically right for the querent; Temperance is like a combination of the two, what is right morally but also what the querent thinks would benefit them all with the intention of striking some sort of balance. They all sound very similar to me, how can I elaborate more on each one so I don't continue confusing myself in the future? Any tips on telling these three apart? Thanks!
Newpath Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I see judgment as a decision about to be made. The bodies rising from the graves in the Rider Waite cards suggests it being a new decision rising up. I see justice as something being as it should as in just/fair. And the right outcome about to happen. I see temperance as balance or things being equal depending on the question.
Rodney Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I often think of Justice as the trial and the verdict, while Judgement is the sentence. Temperance I see as either being the middle ground between two things OR mixing two things together to arrive at some third thing. For me, morals and ethics are the realm of the Hierophant.
katrinka Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Pretty much that, except that I don't see the trial court paradigm in Judgement. For me, it's there in name only. There are two things happening on the card: a trumpet blast, and the dead rising. So it might be a wake up call, or something that was dormant starting up again.
