plantiebee Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Hi - my name is Christina and I am an expat American living in Sweden 🙂 I have been reading tarot since around 2015 but want to dive deeper into it and get better at my interpretations. Hence why I am here! I look forward to being a part of the community and learning about the amazing art of tarot. See you around! ☺️
Raggydoll Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I am Swedish 😊 Hope you like living in Sweden?
plantiebee Posted November 25, 2021 Author Posted November 25, 2021 Thanks so much! I've lived here now 10 years - so yes I like it 😆 though I'll admit it took maybe 8 years to get to the point of being comfortable 🤣
Raggydoll Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I can imagine, it must be different in many ways! 😁
DanielJUK Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Welcome to our community @plantiebee glad you have found us here 🙂 I am always envious of people who have moved countries long- term and it must be so nerve wracking at first and then a whole different perspective and view 🙂

I think that holds true 😉 thanks for the warm welcome!

Yes it does alter your view of the world and people quite a bit. But in general for the best. There is something deep that comes from the loneliness of being a foreigner - you see people for who they are rather than their background/age/job etc... connections are based on something else. Anyway could talk about that for ages! Haha I lived in the UK for 5 years as well and learned alot from that too! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Hemera Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I am guessing that after 5 years in the UK the weather in Sweden was not that bad after all.. 😆 I hope you like it here. Välkommen!

Välkommen! Tack så mycket! Haha well - every November I think otherwise 🤣 but there's alot I appreciate about Sweden. The only thing I think the UK had to top it was the preserved history, castles, etc... otherwise for daily life hands down Sweden is a winner 😉
DanielJUK Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 I guess with Sweden you have to learn to live with the cold winters. When I talk to people who have come to live in the UK, they are shocked by the changeability of our weather. One friend told me that you need to have an umbrella in your bag, sunglasses, suntan cream, warm clothes, cool clothes as any day could be any weather at any time 😆. Also it's really our small talk and so we always talk about the weather first, it's too cold, hot, wet, dry, snowy! It is our first part of conversation commonly 🙂 I always have a fondness for Sweden and Northern Europe as well though 🙂
