Queen of Stones Wildwood Tarot Card Meanings - Bear | TarotX

(This is the first card I'm studying in the Wildwood, I'm following Alison Cross's book "A Year in the Wildwood".  So my notes and observations are based heavily on the Guidebook, Alison's Book and my own observations of this card.  My studies will primarily follow the journaling ideas from Alison's book with a little more basic notes to start with).

This Queen is represented by the Cave Bear.  She is a symbol of Power and Protection.  As a Queen she is:

- practical

- welcoming

- nurturing

- delights in prosperity and luxury (being of the stones suite)

- loyal

- generous

In a more negative light, she may also be:

- a hoarder or squander

- demanding on those around her (energy vampire type situation)

- timid

Queen's in this deck are guardians and teachers and, from Alison Cross's book, asks me:

- Where can I pass on my practical skills?

I am very much in tune with this cards characteristics and energies and so I feel I can pass on my practical skills in a number of ways - through the volunteering I do, the piano teaching I do and sharing the skills of my creative crafts with others.

- whose abilities can I nurture?

I've kind of already answered this but particularly those of my piano students and those people I teach creative craft skills to.

Meditation with the Queen of Stones

(I do this as a journey into the card, what happens next type meditation)

The Cave Bear watches the sun set.  It is time.  She goes to the deepest part of her cave and prepares her nest.  She makes piles of leaves to be her blankets over the winter months.  She is alone right now.  But her body is prepared.  She has eaten well this summer and autumn so she is ready.  Deep in her womb, new life is stirring, to be born in the darkness.  When she wakes from the long sleep she will have a little one to protect, nurture, care for and teach.  Let us leave her to sleep.

The message from this meditation for me was to be prepared for the winter months that are approaching us now.  Find time to rest and nurture myself for the challenges that winter brings.  But remember, winter is a time of rest.  Use it wisely.

@stephanelli, I love your work here. One of the ways the card can "swing" for me, is if during a reading I perceive the Queen to be "surveying her queendom" with contentment, or whether she is "on the lookout" for threats to security. Though I would offer that in case it is useful.

Thank you, yes, I can really see that! It'd be interesting to get her in a reading now!
