Mymystic Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Hello everybody ! I've just received the Modern Spellcaster Tarot. I discovered the way of Wands=Air and Swords=Fire. And it could work in my mind ! In the Tarotbook the author says that many decks works this way. Do you have exemples of decks or books which speak of Wands=Air ? Thanks in advance !
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) here is a list from a few years ago. Over time I've learned to just not get these decks although sometimes you can choose to ignore and go your own way. https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/changed-suit-element-associations.shtml edited to add: welcome to the forum if I haven't already said so already! katrinka Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I was using those correspondences with TdM for awhile. They work, Golden Dawn works, it all works. 😉 I had a look at the Modern Spellcasters. It looks vaguely RWS-ish, but not exactly. https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/modern-spellcasters-tarot/ People who use that deck generally seem to ignore the switched correspondences. It would bug me to do that if the Swords had fire on the cards, etc. https://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=268657 I have a couple of decks that follow Eudes Picard's system. Swords are Water in that one, and Cups are Air. It's not confusing at all since there are visual reminders on the cards, like butterflies on the Cups. "When in Rome, do as the Romans." It's fairly easy to switch elemental correspondences according to the deck you're using. Try using the deck as it was intended before you decide to ignore the elements. It's really not difficult!
