Daily Reading Question-to or from

Recommended Posts

When doing a three card spread for a daily reading, how does one know if the reading is for the sitter or from the sitter? For example, is the reading something the sitter is going to receive or give/do to someone or something else. Am I making sense? 😃

Interesting question, I think I would need to see the cards . Is this for general daily draws with no question asked? In my opinion Lenormand likes precise questions.

Agreed. Three cards with no context but a timeframe could be talking about a lot of things.

This is what I thought too. I have a friend that asks, "How will my day go?" or " What is in store for me today?" and I think those are too broad of questions but Im still learning and having to unlearn some other things with Lenormand so I wasn't 100% sure.

Thank you for your replies @joy and @katrinka

So asking the cards “show me something I need to know about my day today” might work better?  I am trying to see what you want to fine tune is why I asked that.

The thing with questions like that is how does one know if you are the one doing the things or the things are coming to you. Im unsure.

Are there any people cards in the spread? Man, Lady, Rider, Snake, Bear, etc.?

@Ziev, I think part of this is seeing how the answer plays out during the day. With me, I had to learn how the cards spoke to me. It is not an immediate process and can take a bit of time. As @katrinkaasked, people cards can assist with this.  I also have to say, no insult intended here, common sense helps out a great deal with Lenormand, they tend to be very direct. With the question I gave you above would it matter if you did it or it was done for you?  Practice, give it a bit of time and perhaps not overthink- again no insult intended.

That's the issue with dailies, having to do that. Asking what will happen today may be good for practice, but little else.
The cards might say that a man is lying. What man? Where? Is this at work, at home, on the internet? Is it something in the news that affects you somehow? You only have a few cards and no context.

It's better to have specific questions: Is the boss being honest with me about X? Did the etsy guy really mail my package? Will I receive it? Was hubby really working late? Etc.

Not sure I fully understand what you mean. But I think this is how we might trick ourselves and bend the cards to our liking. Therefore it is better to ask a precise question. Eg if you have a meeting: how will it go? Etc

I think that practice and gaining the fluency that it gives you is the entire reason behind daily draws  I no longer do them everyday, once or twice a week really, but it keeps me on my toes. I totally agree, for a better read more specific questions are the ticket but again for practice and keeping in the flow, I do agree with doing a daily pull at the beginning of a person’s Lenormand learning.

In the recent daily spreads no.

I suppose this could be the way.  I guess that is how one can learn what the cards are trying to tell you.

I think it would matter. If I wait for the cards to play out then I don't see how this is any different than what tarot can do. Again, this is just my experience and I am happy to read what others think. However, I think since Lenormand is more direct I would get a more direct answer. Maybe this just comes in time with learning? I don't know. I am still trying to find my way around.

Me overthink! Nonsense! (that is a bit of sarcasm. 😆 I DO have a tendency to do this.)  No insult taken! I appreciate what you have to say and am always open to others ideas, suggestions, response's etc.

I can definitely see how that would be a problem! Time to change it up. 😃

Thanks everyone. I hope this post is not too crowded to read. I wasn't sure if I should post back in one or reply separately.

@Ziev, there is an exercise which works really well with Lenormand:

Foretelling the weather.

You get a real natural feel for the cards, as well as for "predicting" in general.

And: You can do (almost) no harm if you get it wrong.

Oh! What a great idea! Thank you. I am going to do this. 😃
