What are some good tarot courses? In videos.

I will like to improve my tarot reading skill.

NOT Biddy....

But you will learn more by posting here.

DEFINITELY not Biddy. * shudders *
I did a quick google of "Tarot courses". OMG, I've never even heard of most of the people offering them. They're not known in the community. Who are these fly-by-nights? It's worse than it used to be. I blame COVID.

I agree that this forum is a good place for learning. And you can supplement that with books and webinars from known Tarot people. Just follow them on social media and you'll hear of anything they've got coming up.

I always direct people who want a beginners course to Joan Bunning's Learn Tarot here and it's free, although you can buy a text book version. The chapters are so good and the exercises for learning the structure. I found things like her court card pairings mostly irreverent in my readings. But it's a good course for free and been around for a long time.

But they are not in video format. Maybe there is a youtuber who offers good guides, I know @katrinka has been critical of many of the Lenormand youtube influencers.

99.999999999999% of them are abysmal. I do like Malkiel and Hexeclaire. And Balthazar has some Lenormand videos, about seven at last count. He's quite good.

Balthazar has some good quality Tarot videos as well:

And Paul Hughes-Barlow is very good:

I've never actually heard a real review of Biddy's courses and her forum when I looked was fee based so can't get a feel.

I found this app to be a fun way to learn without breaking the bank

Joan Bunnings course was good fun to take when I started, at that time you got one email a week to study and work with.

From anyone take what you need and leave the rest.

Labyrinthos monetises everything. It annoys me so much I don't look any more.

You have no idea how this comment warmed my heart. I've just spent a couple of months on Tarot reddit ... where i found myself dealing with a virtual army of Biddy and Labrynthos "True Believers".

The groupthink is clone-ish. They preach the gospel according to Biddy and Labrynthos: Tarot must NEVER be used for predictions or divination. And Tarot is JUST ink and paper ... it has no power or magic. In fact, magic itself doesn't affect anything because we can't affect the outside world, only ourselves. And the Death Card NEVER means Death. It means rebirth!

The reader who got Death card right before her querent had a miscarriage? SHAME on her for reading on something serious. Tarot is ONLY for exploring psychology. It's NEVER to be used for real life decisions or anything, ya know, important.

... and on and on and on. I tried to educate some of them ... got through to a couple ... but most are like zombies. I used to think that Biddy and the mainstreaming of Tarot was cool. Like it would elevate people.

How wrong i was. All it did was profane Tarot and turn it into one more cheap trinket for sale next to Halloween candy at Walmart.

I despair. Thank you for letting me rant.

OP or anyone else with this question since this is an old thread ... there ARE some good courses out there.

Good books for self study. I learned on the 1960 classic Tarot Revealed by Eden Gray. Dated, yet timeless. I actually took a tarot course on Udemy as research for my own teaching methods ... and it was decent for $15. Not great but decent for the price. WAAAY better to spend $15 for a book or Udemy course than rely on the free stuff which is always trying to sell you something in the end. Of course nowadays there are many crap books and courses ... i watched about 10 crap Udemy intros before i found one that was worth my $14.95.

I know the type of readers you’re referring to, and I agree with you. My only consolation is that to them, tarot cards will only be ink and paper, and their ‘magic’ will never be able to impact the world. Because limiting beliefs does actually limit us!

Whenever I hear ‘magic doesn’t work that way’, I’m inclined to reply ‘What you mean is that you cannot work magic that way’. 😊

Well said. It holds for Tarot also. Maybe YOU can't predict future events ... but TAROT often can ... in the hands of someone with skill.

Honestly what's the big fuss anyway?

Time is non-linear. Non-local phenomena are observed by Physicists in labs.

Of COURSE this stuff happens ... even science shows that it's possible.

🌟🤍🌟 I agree.  I found this so helpful when I was learning Tarot.  I recommend it to people, too.  And it's free!  How generous.  I bought the book and used it cover to cover. 🌟🤍🌟
