What Tarot / Divination book are you currently reading through or studying? This is a sister thread to the what non-tarot book are you currently reading? thread here (this is a subscribers area of the forum) I thought it would be good to have an ongoing thread for people to update their current tarot related reading. Books / Ebooks / Audio books have to be on tarot / divination themes 🙂

I just finished watching the first season of the British crime series called Cooper & Fry. It is based on the books by Stephen Booth. Many of the episodes contains British folk lore, and there is also a character (the mother of police officer Ben Cooper) who does multiple tarot readings which tie into the cases that the polices are investigating. I really enjoyed this series and I feel like the episodes kept getting better and better. In the beginning I was a bit unsure about the interpretations that was given about some of the cards, but as time went on, I could see that they had put effort into understanding tarot and doing something clever with it. I also found t…

In another thread a member suggested to me that I use an app to read Tarot while I live at my parents since they don't allow the cards in their house. I started looking up various apps and kept seeing "AI Tarot reader" And suddenly I wasn't sure if this was a good idea anymore lol. Now I will admit, I am a lot more weary of AI or.. distrusting of it than most people are, and I could absolutely be paranoid. But whether or not AI is good, bad, neutral, it still kind of makes me question like... what makes the right cards come out of a deck? And are we sure a computer app can accurately do the same thing? A lot of people won't let others touch their Tarot decks so tha…

I've been thinking a lot about this book lately and I have it....somewhere (it's in the pole barn, in a box, someplace...) and so, I reordered it. And then it occurred to me that I never really saw anyone talking about the book over the years. Have any of you worked your way completely through the book? Did it help? Or did you just do one or two exercises and call it quits? Your answers won't affect my purchase. That's a done deal. I just wondered if people found it useful?

‘The Tarot: a Key to the Wisdom of the Ages’, by Paul Foster Case. I’m so excited to read it. I recently joined an esoteric organization called Builders of the Adytum which was started by Case. I’m learning about Tarot, the Qabalah, and other occult topics. Evidently this particular book discusses the Major Arcana and the numerological, astrological, Qabalastic, and symbolic aspects of each card. I just wanted to share. I also got this neat bookmark! Lol. @DanielJUK I just realized this post probably belongs in the chatter sub-forum, if you want to move it. Sorry!

Hi, what do people here think of the TTRPGs/solo RPGs that employ tarot cards? I recently played Anamnesis (a journaling game found on itch.io) and enjoyed how tarot cards were integrated into the gameplay. The author included two ways to interpret the cards (which are used to generate writing prompts/events) which I found to be a fun way to study card meanings on a more regular basis. You can use the traditional meanings, or interpret the card's design/imagery and name as you wish. look This led me to look for more games with similar mechanics, such as Princess With a Cursed Sword. A look into itch.io's Tarot tag under Physical Games shows that th…

I was reading the Guardian the other day, and saw that the Warburg Institute in London has a very interesting occult library - but more specifically, will be holding a show on original Tarot artwork in January. I'm not in London. Wouldn't it be nice of someone to take photos and tell us about it? Or perhaps some TTM members would like to visit as a group? It would be good if we could get temporary memberships for their occult library (being researchers on behalf of this forum). Would we write a book? What topic chapter would you want to write about? Just a suggestion - not sure if it's possible. Let me know your thoughts. I'll see if I can get …

I was doing some Googling on Oprah Winfrey the other day and was very surprised to find she is or was selling tarot cards on one of her sites. I do not think that this is a good thing for us tarot people to have Oprah's name involved with the tarot community. The following is just my opinion of new-age guru Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has been behind so many new age scams it's not funny. I'll list them for you. The first one is called A Course In Miracles and I remember in her early tv days she had guest and ACIM teacher Marianne Williamson. Basically, ACIM is a "channeled" teaching of Jesus which talks about love, undoing and oth…

Was pleasantly surprised to find this lil guy as the promo card for a box I bought in my local game store. The Tarot must really be that ubiquitous if one can find it in something as mainstream as Magic: the Gathering. Earlier this year, Clarkson Potter released The Magic: the Gathering Oracle Deck. It featured Theros though, which is a planar riff on Ancient Greek mythology. Not my cuppa tea so I skipped it.

Hello everyone, I am looking for books that are not tarot books that would be of interest to people who read the tarot for others. For example, I found a free PDF download of the book The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes online (just search around a bit and you'll find it). Its philosophy rings true with me and jives with the tarot (lots of soundbites I can use). I am not interested in Law of Attraction stuff. Thanks for reading this. Rick-

I had an unexpected opportunity to buy some divination books and this was one of them. The work is focused on The Egyptian Tarot and derived from The Sacred Tarot by C.C. Zain. I’d love to hear from those of you that have studied either of these books and if you’ve used the card deck. Is it best to use the black and white version (available on PrintStudio) or the new version of the deck that is colored?

I’ve read many times on here about members only having a few books to reference when they were learning to read tarot. At the book barn where I picked up several cartomancy books, they also had a 1960’s copy of this book. I went back yesterday to pick it up and I am so glad I did. I have the black Eden Gray’s book and thought it might have been the same so I left it the first time. I won’t be doing that again. This books is a treasure.
