Guest Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I'm always observing and learning, so I tend to lurk more than I post. As of late (like the last four years or so) I have moved into studying classical astrology. I don't do tarot readings so much anymore unless someone begs me to, it creeps me out. I spend the largest bulk of my time drawing tarot cards. I have been in a state of drawing and redrawing my deck for six years now
Em Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi, whatsawhosit! Welcome to the forum. It would be great if you can share you art work here so we can enjoy them :-* Anyway, it has been nice to see you here :) Em
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Howdy whatsawhosit, and welcome to the Forums! I hope our passion for the Tarot will help alleviate your apprehensions regarding it. We're also curious to see your deck, so please don't hesitate to post it. :)
Guest Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 thank you. perhaps I will start a thread or two about the cards once I organize a way to host the images.
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I've always used imgur, and it has never given me a reason to regret hosting with it. Also, make sure to check out the Deck Creations sub.
Guest Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 hi :D ...i guess I have tons of web hosting through Adobe...doh i was doodling a border this morning..
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Yay, another esoteric reader! Let's see: this card is the 9 of Cups, showing keywords for both its upright and reversed aspects. At first, I thought you had alternative astrological correspondences for each aspect: Neptune in Pisces for upright and Pluto (with its old symbol) in Scorpio for reversed. Then I realized that the ruling planet for Pisces is Neptune while for Scorpio it's Pluto, so there's that. You gave written clues for the Kabbalistic/Hebrew Letter Teth which stands for the card Strength and also for the Enneagram symbol. Why them tho? I'm familiar with the myth of Cassiopeia. Did you choose her to symbolize the shadow aspect of the 9 of Cups? She does represent hardships and punishment, tho it's mostly due to her own faults so yeah.
Guest Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 yeah something like esoteric. these are really more like my notes for astrology than a "set of cards" at this time. :) 9 of water, ruled by pisces ( on the left there) co-ruled by Scorpio ( the decan of Pisces). the constellation for this chunk of the sky is cassiopea...which ironically really does fit that card The enneagram is just a study tool that I can associate with nine, a placeholder with meaning. all my water cards are symbols...because i suck at drawing water... anything and everything in my couple notebooks that I would have to reference for my studies, is what I stick on my cards. I made my own study deck. i have been trying to get this one done the last deck is just about wore out.
