VGimlet Posted December 10, 2021 Author Posted December 10, 2021 Still using the Creepy Kawaii - didn't quite spend enough time with it. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the season no matter if you celebrate holidays or not. 🙂
Bodhiseed Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 I'm in this week with Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot and the Saltwater Cards. Thank you, VGimlet.💓 I'm enjoying the change of seasons. We have a family of raccoons who live nearby - a mom and her three roly-poly babies. They scout the neighborhood every night, checking for pet food left out on porches. Kind of like raccoon trick-or-treating. 😄🦝
Amberjune Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Witches Wisdom Tarot and the Spirit Cats Cards for me. It's snow/raining here all weekend , I am huddled in and ready for a reading marathon 🙂. @Bodhiseed The Waking the Wild Spirit is one that got away, always wanted it, but am content I have her new deck instead.
vulprix Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I love hearing from everyone about the coziness of the season 🦝 📚 VGimlet, that Creepy Kawaii Tarot is actually quite awesome! I love unassuming, quirky, simple decks that provoke thought in their interpretations of the tarot. This coming week I plan on using the Mythic Tarot, but when I am out and about, I'll probably be using my Otherkin Tarot. (The Mythic Tarot is a preciousss... darn that scarcity!)

I had it, gave it away, then bought another directly from Poppy. Although I do use it as a tarot, I can see why she originally told the publishers she didn't want to label it as such. I love her newest deck too!
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Margarete Petersen Tarot for me, thank you VG!

Bodhiseed Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 This week I'll be using Poppy Palin's Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot, published by Llewellyn, along with the 2nd edition of her companion book, Stories of the Wild Spirit, published by Slippery Jacks Press. I'll also be drawing from the Saltwater Reading Cards, created by Laura Bowen and published by Rockpool Publishing. Today's cards are Spark/Ace of Fire (Wands) and Crocodile: As a mother and child gather dried branches, a father attempts to produce a spark by striking flint rocks. The Ace of Fire brings passionate inspiration that can motivate us to start something new. But - as anyone who's attempted primitive fire-making knows - it can take some tenacity to build a useful fire, no matter how much enthusiasm you have. It helps not to wait too long to begin, or our eagerness will fade and fail to supply the energy to persevere. Yet Crocodile appears to warn that there may be a hidden obstacle we need to be aware of, so we shouldn't jump in without being alert or prepared. As a teen, I shared a junker car with four step-siblings that we all used for work. I learned the hard way to always check the gas gauge before I took off anywhere. In the words of J.R.R. Tolkien, "It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near one."

The Saltwater Reading Cards are so beautiful. I have been an emotional wreck about whether to move or not. I really don’t want to, but I know it is an eventuality—either next year, or the year after. At least I have the beauty of the Mythic Tarot in this moment. The cards seem to be telling me to embrace change (Hades in the Death card), but Penelope (the Queen of Wands) is an intriguing model of constancy and loyalty—maybe I can sufficiently change while staying constant, in the same place. Master of my hearth. Edited December 13, 2021 by vulprix
Bodhiseed Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 @vulprix, I always saw the Queen of Wands as a cheerleader and encourager. 😊 Here's hoping you receive the gentle nudge you need to make that decision of whether to go or stay.
Mi-Shell Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 After my described fiasco with the Shining Tribe last week, I will nurse myself back with the Otherkin Tarot.

Master of my hearth. I believe you've just solved a mystery for me, i.e. What the Heck is this Deck... These packets are thin though, and I wonder if I'm missing one third of the deck. Are your cards thin?
vulprix Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Hi @Aeona! They are not that thin, but they did come in two stacks in a box so that part checks out! if your copy is legitimate, you should know that the original Mythic Tarot is out of print, hard to find, and valuable! (And beautiful, too!)
Aeona Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 @vulprix That's interesting, and good to know, thanks! I have a somewhat extensive collection of about 100 decks, and some were purchased in small lots of used decks back in the early 2000s. I assume this is one of those. I don't believe I have a book or box to go with them. I appreciate your knowledge on this!

There is a Fool’s Dog mobile app for the Mythic Tarot that goes with this deck if you wanted easy (electronic) access to the full guidebook! The app even includes all original artwork.
Aeona Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 @vulprix thank you! I'll probably just keep the deck wrapped and not open it, I've seen it now on some videos about it, and I'm not in love with it. Especially if it has collector value, I may look into selling it someday.
