Hello and greetings from Taiwan

I just started studying tarot and oracle decks about 2 months ago. I've always been intrigued by the artwork, but only recently found interest after experiencing a few reads from a friend.  I hope to share my questions and experiences as a beginner.  At the same time to learn from all the wisdom from others who are more experienced.

I am also in the creative and public relations industry, so many of the cards I purchased came from more of a collection point of view.

Current decks in use:

  • tarot - Golden Art Nouveau Tarot
  • Oracle - Prism Oracle

Other decks I have collected:

  • The Chinese Tarot - interesting tied in with the culture I was born in.
  • Tarot of the Divine - I purchased it primarily based on the amazing art work.
  • The Wisdom of TAO Oracle Vol. 1 and 2 - many of the background stories were familiar folklores and bedtime stories in my childhood memories.  Looking to collect also Vol. 3.
  • The Literary Witches Oracle - I find it interesting to tie in famous women writers with "witch" personalities.  The art work is also phenomenal with earth tone colors,
  • Oracle of the Angels - Very positive and therapeutical art work and words.  I find it "uplifting", especially this past two years while the world is going through the pandemic.
  • Wisdom of the Oracle - Again, I am a very visual person, so was immediately drawn to the illustration.  I find this deck to be quite complex so I am waiting to explore it when I am more experienced.
  • Angel Answers Oracle Cards - Very straight and to the point.  It seems to be very helpful guidance in decision making.
  • The Witches Wisdom Tarot - Made this purchase also based on the art work and the tactile quality from the type of paper it's made.
  • OH Card - This was actually how I started in the study of cards.  However, I find it more helpful and engaging for others than doing self read/study.
  • Lucid Dream Tarot - key words printed on the card is good for studying.
  • Pam's Vintage Tarot - The retro borderless card is a bit easier to read than the Golden Art Nouveau I have under bright lights.
  • Universal Waite - my first deck.  However, the card is a bit tacky making it a bit difficult to shuffle and spread.  Wonderful deck nonetheless.

cheers,

Welcome to our community from Taiwan @jlai1067 :animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:🙂

A good forum tip for you, You can add your deck collection to your profile, in the text entry box about deck collection and then you have a record of it on your profile. This is useful if you do exchanges or anything in future and want others to see what decks you have . There is also a deck wishlist tab as well there 🙂

Good one!
I need to get mine out again. Life is less busy than when I got it, so I can spend proper time with it. Virtually anything that features Emily Brontë on the box is worth a deep dive. 😁 (I thought it was Charlotte at first, but Emily, in some ways, is even more interesting.)

Welcome!

Welcome!

My feeling is that to get the full potential of this deck, one should have in depth knowledge of these women authors.  I am just starting out with Prism and it's already a handful.

Hello @jlai1067 welcome to the TT&M Family :animated-smileys-signs-085: Nice deck collection you have!

Thanks.  As mentioned, I started out collecting simply because of the art work.  However, after receiving a few reads from a friend, I felt intrigued by both Tarot and Oracle cards.  Since I work in a high strung business environment, I feel this could also be a good way for me to relax.  Taking things easy and not giving myself much pressure, otherwise, it'd be stress on top of stress....
