VGimlet Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 I'm Baaaack.....hahaha. In with the Waterfall Tarot this week. It feels spring-y, and I'm ready for Spring! Groundhog or no groundhog prediction...
Amberjune Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 thank you for the new thread, VG!! I'm in this week with the Wizards Tarot (the Corrine Kenner one) and the Earth Wisdom Oracle by Barbara Moore.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 beginning Sunday I'll be using the Arboridium Oracle, thanks VG
Mi-Shell Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Hi EVERYONE♥ I am on my Week 3 with the Winterseer Oracle. However, I want to see, if I can combine the Animals of the Winterseer with the Plants of the Botanical oracle, also by Siolo Thompson. The decks have different card backs but are the same size.
Madame Squee Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Thank you for the thread VG! 🌹 I’m in with the Tarot of Oppositions. I never read with reversals and wasn’t going to try this deck. But here I am.
Bodhiseed Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 I'm in this week with the Tarot of Durer paired with the Philosopher’s Stone. Thank you VG!

AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 I was going to hold out, it irritates me that nearly all her characters are looking right. I talked to her about it and she said it was an artist thing. But when I use a deck which way the figures are facing is important, so her decks seem a bit missing. But I do love them, so hey...support the art, right? And maybe if she does another she'll think about it and have more diversity 🙂 In the meanwhile I have all her decks now and have gifted a few of them.
Madame Squee Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 @VGimlet I'm going back to the KOTH Tarot for this week. It's too soon to move on. Thank you 💝
Wyrdkiss Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Greetings Greedlings, Let's see. This week I'll dive into the True Black Tarot.
Bodhiseed Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 This week I'll be using the Tarot of Durer, created by Manfredi Toraldo and Giacinto Gaudenzi and published by Lo Scarabeo. The oracle deck I'll also be using is the Philosopher's Stone, created by De Es (Schwertberger) and published by AG Muller. Today's draws are the Hierophant and Introspection: Wisdom is not easily improvised; virtue cannot be invented. The Hierophant represents a teacher/leader who guides others and passes on values and traditions to the group. Yet that bag of coins gripped tightly in his lap makes me wonder if he's praying for the right use of those donations for the poor, widows and orphans or if he's just thinking of how he could use the money for his own benefit. His dog appears to look at him and ask where the Hierophant's loyalties lie. Introspection is the observation of one's own mental and emotional processes. It gives us a chance to see if our thoughts and emotions actually match reality or if we're simply running on past patterns without seeing what's in front of us. In the case of our devotion to a teacher, we might consider if we're going along out of habit or because we think he might supply us with what we want (as with the prosperity gospel preachers). It would be wise to use discernment and heed the words of Robert Ingersoll: "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power."

Hey, Bodhiseed! A long time ago I made a list of the Latin mottos in the Tarot of Durer. The deck is gone but the list remains! For what it's worth, here you go. Tarot of Durer Latin Mottos.pdf
Wyrdkiss Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 The True Black tarot, a deck so high in quality I almost don't want to shuffle it and break it in. Dollar per dollar, it is incredibly well done. The best value for the money of any in my collection. Today we are recording episode 3 of our YouTube channel about table-top gaming, so the Ace of Wands if fitting inspiration. We will dive into with creative enthusiasm, and enjoy the beginning of another chapter in our support of the hobby.
Rachelcat Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi, everyone! Late to the party, but I’m really here! I’m taking it easy with readings this week, both because this fun oracle is up in the rotation as one of my newer decks and because I’m falling down the angel and demon shemhamephorash rabbit hole again, which basically means I’m smashing together info from many books and decks into one table to rule them. But I digress. This week’s deck is Cosmic Cat Wisdom Cards: Your Daily does of Insight and Delight by Randy Crutcher and Barb Horn. (They also have Divine Dog Wisdom Cards.) 60 large (5.5 x 3.75 inches), glossy cards with a same size book. Book has about a page of info and “Other Thoughts to Stalk” (questions and prompts for introspection) for each card. The art looks like digitally altered photos. So you get all that real catness with added whimsy and color. It has large keywords and advice over a greyed out ball of yarn. (I got this as a replacement for Cat Wisdom by Blue Angel, which is all photos of kittens in a studio. I like to see all cats, not just cute kittens, and the staging of the poor little things seemed exploitive somehow . . .) Wash and shuffle and a brief interview: The deck’s strength: Retreat, Stop the Spin It’s actually good at triggering some introspection, and will give me something different to think about. The deck’s weakness: Discernment, Take a Closer Look But I shouldn’t expect it to be TOO deep. It’s cute pictures of cats with keywords! Outcome of our work together: Focus, Eyes on the Prize It will help me zoom in on some issues I’m not aware of right now. It will help me refine my understanding of what my goals are. Ok, I’m liking these cheeky kitties so far, even if they seem to be obsessed with mice. (NOT my favorite animals, but I didn’t like having to kill them . . . Thankfully, they’ve been gone from my kitchen for a while now!) I’ll probably just do a card of the day every day this week over in my journal. See you there!

Wyrdkiss Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 @Rachelcat that kitty oracle is just too cute. I've warmed to oracle decks greatly over the last 5 years. I look forward to more info / pics / reflection.

Wyrdkiss Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 I adore this True Black. It is minimal, yet effective imagery. The cards are so thick they are a bit bulky to shuffle, but I manage. I drew a pull about work and the 8 of wands came up -- a favorite of mine in many packs. It can be hard to tell the difference between the sword and wand suites at times in this deck. Image enclosed. And yes, work was incredibly rapid pace today, but I kept up with it as prescribed.

Wyrdkiss Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 The back of the deck is gorgeous too. Slow week here. How is everyone? Busy with life stuff?
VGimlet Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Been a weird week for me. Got a rood canal, which was worse than expected and missed 3 days of work so far. (I have Monday's off) but I'm finally coming back to life thanks to antibiotics and pain pills. Part of my job is talking, and a sore jaw and no sleep would NOT have mixed well.

Root canals can be beastly. Rest well.
